Much like last year, I planned on not bothering with a Christmas picture this time. Then I had to go and listen to "It's a Pony Kind of Christmas". After hearing this song (www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYOH0Lā¦ ) I just had to illustrate it. I briefly considered doing Pinkie Pie's "Twelve Days of Christmas", but then I remembered that I need sleep to function properly. And in case you're wondering, yes, I did pretty much throw perspective at the wall to see what stuck.As always this is for all of you wonderful people (over 2,000 by now) who seem to like my scribblings and splashings well enough to keep watching.

I've been staring at this painting for the last couple of minutes (and I could stare longer!).
There is so much to take in, it's amazing!
The impeccable detail is just literally awesome. The rainboom, the colour choices, the buildings and scenery in the background are all commendable. The speed streaks, in particular, are simply amazing: not distracting, not messy, just perfect.
Most of all: it tells a story, and a fun one at that

Thank you! I must have drawn those buildings at least four times, first establishing them on a separate sheet, inking them, using a makeshift light box to transfer them to watercolor paper, going over them with a darker pencil, and finally painting them. I guess it's a good thing I enjoy tedium.
I'm really glad the motion streaks turned out as well as they did, with this being the first time I've tried such an effect.
The story is what made it my favorite song from the album.
