A chimera is also an unrealisable illusion of the mind.

My train of thought wanted the first picture to be how Vriska wished the happy-thoughts scenario could have passed (in her makebelieve land where everybody is still whole and hale! - which is why she doesn't have a robot arm and Tav still has his legs, though none of that is shown very well) ...and the second picture was kind of how it ended up going down.

Oh, that's a neat idea. Jeez, I really don't know what to think of Vriska. She's a manipulative bitch, but she was made that way. She could have been nicer than she is now, but she just wasn't strong enough. And now it's too late for her to be considered a 'good person' now, because she's ruined both of the sessions, but now she's feeling regret, and the little witch won't let me make up my mind!

I used to ship this until I realised that Vriska's a pretty dysfunctional character and has a difficult time getting along with others. On top of that- despite however hard I wished for the better- Tavros' quibbling nature only brought out more of the dysfunctional in her because she'd push him to attempt to inspire courage and encourage him to ...grow a pair. But Tav such a weak-willed dude that the relationship devolved into some terrible chain of Vriska harassing him and him just retreating every time.
Now I've convinced myself that Psycho Bitch will probably be forever alone because she is just too good for you. WELP.
