Description
Bro Hoof is a young colt living in Ponyville and he is a HUGE fan of the Mane Six. Ever since he heard about how they defeated Nightmare Moon he has become their biggest fan. They're his heroes even though they're grown mares and he's just a little colt. He's got all kinds of merchandise (most he made himself) of them and he has newspaper clippings of all their greatest adventures including the Canterlot Wedding and the Crystal Empire. He knows everything you'd ever want to know about these ponies and to that extent some would call his obsession unhealthy. He can be obsessive but he's not a bad colt, trying to live by the examples that his idols have given him.Now why am I suggesting him as a mascot not only for the group ? Well for a number of reasons.
Firstly, he's a huge fan of the Mane 6 as many bronies are. In fact considering all the obstacles that they've had to overcome it's strange that they're not really seen as celebrities (outside of a couple episodes). They're modern day heroes for Equestria so they're bound to have a fanboy or more out there.
Secondly, his design I think symbolizes the group. He's a foal, as our fandom is still pretty young. It's only about 3 years old. He's a colt given that the majority of the very avid fans are men. He's a pegasus because those types of ponies, as far as I've noticed, tend to be the most popular among fans. Just look at all the pegasus OC's. His color scheme is fairly generic so he can be just about anyone. We have all kinds of people in our fandom so why not have on that could be any of them? And his cutie mark represents his love for these characters just like we have. It's even reminiscent of the My Little Pony logo.
Thirdly, his personality. He is a huge fanboy of these characters as are we, in fact it could almost seem creepy how deep his obsession goes. I think we can relate to that simply because when you get down to it there are those who take it way tooo seriously. To those who are not in his hooves it would seem that way, but to him there's nothing wrong with it. He is good about taking criticism for this passion of his, in fact he can laugh off most of the teasing. But if you insult those dear to him (his family, friends or the Mane 6) he can get very hostile. Our fandom is guilty of this as we do have members who do get over zealous when things go down hill and when the characters are insulted. Despite this however he does do his best to live by Love and Tolerance, the example that his idols have displayed. He wants to be like them in that he tries to learn the lessons they learn and we do try to do that.
In short, to me Bro Hoof represents the fandom very well. He is a big fan of what the Mane 6 have done (after all they should clearly be way more popular in Equestria given what they've achieved), he does do his best to live a life of love and tolerance but he has been known to go overboard when the right buttons are pushed. In short I think that if we bronies are to have a mascot that represents us I feel like they should represent not just the good but also the bad. As much as we want to move past our failings and try to maintain our Love and Tolerance motto, we cannot just pretend that we do take things too far be they violent or perverted. Even if these are just individual members, they're still a part of us.
Bro Hoof is my entry for 's Mascot contest. If you want to get in on this, be sure to quickly pop over to the1king.deviantart.com#/journ… for your chance because the due date is fast approaching.

I think he's a perfect entry for the Mascot contest. XD And even if he doesn't win, he's still an awesome character!
You do make a good point, in Equestria, the Mane 6 would be considered heroes and be very popular for their actions. So I think there would be fangirls/fanboys ( Or fanmares and fancolts? X'DD ) everywhere. The same can be said in any sort of fandom, I know Nintendo's made jokes in Mario games with characters being fans of the main characters. ( They even made a boss character a huge nerdy chameleon who knew just nearly everything about Mario and Luigi, and Princess Peach. Like, this character could've been considered brony-level material. )
But enough of me rambling, I hope this character wins the contest!

I hope so to. I figured if a group were to have a mascot representing it, well then what better mascot for bronies than one that exhibits everything we are. Truly great characters have good and bad sides to them. It makes them more (for lack of better words) human. You take the good with the bad and hopefully the good can outshine the bad. When it comes to bronies and Bro Hoof I think we do because even if we do have a bratty, twisted and perverted side to us, that doesn't mean as a whole we're not good people. That section of us is in a minority anyway, it's just that unfortunately they stand out and often are the loudest.

Making a mascot for the group. I got only one other mascot contest to work on, but I'm gonna wait a bit on that.

Ha! Now that I think about it he looks a bit like Card Stock. Younger brother? Son? We may never know.
