Update 10/1
It's doooooooone :'D kinda!
I want to actually scan it in and edit in photoshop, and possibly add color. So for now, I'm updating this file. Soon however, I'll probably be throwing this in scraps and uploading the separate polished version later.
I will also be uploading a kind of step-by-step, possibly in gif form if I can figure it out

Finished the flowers. This might be one of the last updates before this gets finished. Hmm.

Update 9/22
Aiy it's been a hot minute since we saw this! I took a short break from it and came back with new ideas (thanks to for listening to me rant :3 ) and finally I know what I'm doing for the background. And I've successfully drawn from the time I woke up today until the time I went to sleep (not all on this, I have schoolwork as well). Imma sleep with my wrist brace tonight eheheh......

Anyway! Finally shaded the bottom portion of his armor, and part of the trident, the crown and other little things like that. Also penciled in the bg (which you can't really see all that well) and started on the flowerssssss. Ohmigawd there's so many.

Pro tip for those of you who want it: normally you're not supposed to draw this stuff one thing at a time like I am. You're supposed to work on the whole thing, or start with the background so you know what you want your values to be. Now I have to work around all the darks and lights on Asgore. Which still works. It's just more confuddled. (also that tip probably made no sense whoops).

I decided he wasn't cool enough so I went and actually looked up plate armor refs and modified the armor I already drew. Don't worry. It was mostly just to procrastinate drawing that one section of his armor I haven't touched yet!

Also still don't know what to do for a background. The idea struck me to have him surrounded by flowers. And the idea looks cool in my head but idk if I have the willpower to handle that mess!

Update 9/2
Figured out chain mail, finished his cape and started shading his fur. Apparently his pants intimidate me since I haven't even started on them yet.
Wondering what I should put in the background? The throne room maybe? Laziness suggests I leave it blank lol

Update 8/30!
Got some more of his cape and armor shaded! Progress is being made slowly yet surely!

If I save enough of these WIP shots, would you guys be interested in me compiling then into some kind of... I dunno... process thingie?

Rawr he's complicated to draw

I feel like his trident looks like it's broken or tilting or something but I actually measured the angle and it's supposedly pretty straight. So I'm not sure what's going on there.
