Definitely has the smallest roster between DW and Itself. Only 57 characters while what 93 for Dynasty Warriors?
Hopefully they will make another samurai warriros game soon and add some more characters

Well, 4 only came out last year so it'll be 2 or 3 years before the next one, unless they add more in a possible XL or Empires.

I'd have happily cut someone for Kagetora, especially when he's clearly the main character of the Uesugi campaign.

Honestly they might of as well cut either Okuni, Goemon, Musashi, or Kojiro since they didn't give them a new update in design. and don't even have thier own story mode.
Kagetora at least has a story mode in both the Uesugi and at the beginning of the Hojo.

It's only going to get worse with Hideyori getting a unique design in 4-II. They shouldn't have been added since not much different can be done with them. They could have at least made Hidetada fully playable since they gave him a full design from the anime.

Didn't Hideyori get a unique design in the anime? i swore he did. and if so they could of made him and Hidetada playable. at least that would of gave us more then just Naomasa. in 4-II.

He did. And that's the problem. Not much can be done with Hideyori either. He's only around for Osaka. Any earlier and you introduce the plothole that he should have succeeded his father if he was old enough, thereby preventing Sekigahara.

Hmm true. though what about Lady Yodo or Hidetsugu i think they could be added and have major parts. Goemon seems to play somewhat major role too as i recall fighting him quite a bit.
as for Musashi and Kojiro i know they had large roles somewhat bcuz i remember in SW2 they participated in the battle of sekigahara.
But yeah Hidetada probably would of been made playable or Kagetora Uesugi and Katsuyori Takeda.

I've thought about Yodo-dono before myself. She fights alongside her parents from Odani onwards and is taken captive by the Toyotomi. She then is befriended by Nene during her confinement and Nene asks her if she'd like to bear Hideyoshi's heir. Yodo-dono fights for the Toyotomi fro a while and sees that Hideyoshi is a good guy and agrees. Then she's the last lien of defense for her son at Osaka. And her weapon is her mother's old one, a toy she was given by her mother at a young age.
Hidetsugu could make for an interesting part of Hideyoshi's story, where Hideyoshi has to make the difficult decision to have him killed to preserve peace, though some Daimyo disagree with the decision, prompting them to join Ieyasu after Hideyoshi died.
Lots of potential with those two.

Yeah personally i think Samurai Warriors need a bit more playable female characters since we only have 13, and have 43 Male playable characters. I also like to have some more Azai characters other then Oichi and Nagamasa and Takatora and Yoshitsugu (technically). Lady Yodo also from what i know plays a larger role then Hideyori does. and i think out of Oichi/Nagamasa's daughters Lady Yodo is t he most requested. and her befriending Nene i would like to see.
though if she ends up using her mother's old weapon the only thing i want is for it to not be so difficult to use and be a bit more deadly. with a new set of combos and skills.
Yeah i know very little on him. But i think either him or Hideyori could be made playable. but Hidetsugu has alot more chances then Hideyori given the fact he has more involvement in the story then Hideyori who only appears on like what? one stage.
I think Yoshihiro's brothers should become playable as well possibly.

Well, the difference in number is obviously because it was largely men that were relevant at the time, but I find that the women in this series and DW tend to have the more varied personalities.
Lady Yodo has apparently been mentioned by the producer as a character he'd like to add. I guess she wasn't included in 4 because they needed those roster slots for the dual character and clan story systems.
Yoshihiro's brothers will definitely make it in. We'll have at least one by SW6 for sure.
I want Katsuyori in too. I picture him as having low self-esteem, having to succeed the Tiger of Kai (this was how I pictured Kagekatsu originally) and he decides after seeing Kagekatsu in action at Otate, that the Takeda can't fall behind. So he leads the Takeda into battle against Nobunaga. At Nagashino. You know how it goes from there. Though if he had a personally story mode, either he'd do well, or his father would turn out to be alive and testing his son.

True. still be nice to have some more females even if just a little. I don't expect them to be as many as there is males since back in these eras, it was usually men who would warriors. unless your ninja i believe.
Hmm well thats at least some good news. So maybe we will get Lady Yodo in a expansion for 4 or in Samurai Warriors 5 (hopefully they make that)
Why SW6?
Yeah I really want Katsuyori too. He honestly would give us more Taekda/Sanada. and like you say i picture him having low-self esteem unlike Kagekatsu. So yeah he would be nice to have. though i am not sure what weapon they could give him or Kagetora to be honest.

I imagine Katsuyori styling himself after his father, with a similar weapon and a headdress (I'd make it the colour for Shingen's SW2 one).

Well hopefully by the time samurai warriors 5 happens we will at least get Sasuke Sarutobi hopefully and maybe Toshiie's wife Matsu Maeda. but yeah we probably won't get another Shimazu in quite some time.
Yeah i could imagine him doing that as well. I think if they add Kagetora/Saburo as a playable character he probably should have a design that makes him look like part of the Uesugi. since he is mainly part of that army in 4.

Yeah. The ninja path concept is cool and I wish it was used more. I assume they just want one ninja per faction, hence having so few. They should add one of the Takeda's though. She could be Kunoichi's mentor. I also want them to rework Kunoichi into Yukimura's actual wife.

Same here. the ninja path seems more optional then required sadly. yeah i can see why there is so few. just wish they add 1 to the uesugi, date, and so on. just to add some more variety.
Yeah I do recall in chronicle mode. Shingen mentioned he had his own ninjas. Hmm yeah they could do that with Kunoichi unless if she is actually Chiyome Mochizuki. but thats just a theory for now. and i don't remember Yukimura's wife's name so i think they could do it with Kunoichi unless they add his wife in the game.

Yeah. The main reason I'd say to make Kunoichi into Yukimrua's wife is so they can actually be together for once.
