Description
"From 'silouros', a kind of river fish. Silurus, sheetfish, catfish. According to LacepTde (1803) this word indicates the rapidity with which Silurus can move its tail.Utilizing sturdy but lightweight construction materials and sacrificing some cargo space, these dedicated exploration vessels are able to reach speeds greater than those of a cruiser while withstanding heavy fire - factors which make them ideal for zipping through dangerous wormholes."

This is my entry for the competition to design an EVE Online ship. Based on Minmatar designs, taking influences from T3 and the more recent design additions to the BC and BS range.

This is great. I think they should give us this ship as a free-be for x-mas to explore WHs. Give it some ridiculous probel launcher that finds WHs really easily but can't find anything else (anomalies, PLEXs etc). Great job on the model

Looks very good...
It looks like a vessel of Minmatar design, is that intentional?

theaaronp In reply to Tdctop [2010-09-08 15:06:34 +0000 UTC]
Yes it is very much intentional.
Hence the Minmatar styled sails, colour scheme/texturing and cockpit.

Ok, i just figured that it might as well be someone who dont know shit about eve online and just by random chance drew something minmatar styled...
Its incredible how well discussed this ship is; you cant see any cardboard, chewing gum or tape on the outside.. Yet everyone knows that that is what most minmatar ships are made off

Played for years now, the design takes some of the more solid design influences from the hurricane and maelstrom, coupled with the typical instantly recogniseable sails and cockpit (see Rapier for example, Scimmy etc), the blue lights are typical of Minmatars logistical/industrial T2 ships too.

good good, would be a shame for such a stand up entry to be dis-qualed over something so simple

Just a question, but are the yellow things on the front side supposed to be doors? If so, how do they open? Up and down would put them through the outer hull... Unless they work like a garage door? Just the first thing that caught my eye... It's a cool ship, though.

They would retract within themselves, not opening fully, but enough to launch probes, and to launch the appropriate drones etc.

Awesome entry there, it even looks like an ORE ship.
Even more impressive that you did this in 9 hours since the contest launch XD
The contest requires an entry with at least six uncoloured line drawings, though. (left right front back top bottom)
