Description
the first of a tryptic detailing the destruction of philadelphia at the hands of greek statues. here, poseidon rises from the schyulkill in the morning. probably the only one of these i'll post. pencil and photoshopRelated content

I noticed the nice touch of atmospheric shadows coming off the buildings. While I do enjoy giant people/monsters, I'm not such a big fan of the waves from the emerging god, they are too thick and perfect. Composition-wise, the bottom right feels too busy without any content.

really? i kind of liked the waves myself, but i see what you mean. compositionally it's kind of weak, i know. i guess i just liked the colors.
my teacher actually complained about the atmospheric shadows, said it flattened the sky too much. eh.

it's cause they ARE both sketches and photos...shhh! i think i was most pleased with the color in this one. i could post the next in the series if you're really interested. i'll have to see if anyone cares to see it
