Octavia: *sniff* It's nothing, I'm fine.
Vinyl: *sits* Now I know there's something wrong. Want to talk about it?
Octavia: ... *mumbles*
Vinyl: What's that, girl? Pony fell down the well?
Octavia: Ha, ha. No... I was, I mean, the quartet... we were boo'd off stage.
Vinyl: WHAT?! By whom?
Octavia: It's no big deal...
Vinyl: Celestia's round flanks, it isn't! Tavi, you're, like, one of the greatest performers I know.
Octavia: You're just saying that.
Vinyl: No, I'm not. But I'm sure whoever boo'd you off stage was just saying all those boo's.
Octavia: You... really think so?
Vinyl: Hey, I KNOW so. Heck, I've been boo'd before - not every pony has the same taste in music.
Octavia: *sniffle* Heh, living with you has certainly made that point.
Vinyl: There's a smile! Now, what happened, exactly?
Octavia: W-well, we were trying this new style. It, well... we knew it was a risk.
Vinyl: I'm sure it turned out great. Heck, you can't have been worse than the concert I just went to.
Octavia: You went to another concert tonight?
Vinyl: Yeah, some rock band. I didn't think you'd be interested, so I didn't invite you. Sorry.
Octavia: R-rock band?
Vinyl: Yeah, they were some new-age post-classical hippies or something. Totally sucked!
Octavia: ...
Vinyl: But don't worry, I know how important being classy is to you, so when the booing started I - that was you four, wasn't it.
Octavia: *sniffle*
Vinyl: Uh. Well... the concept was... I mean... y'know, you REALLY need to shut me up when I start running my mouth.
Octavia: You were doing well for a little while there... didn't want to ruin your "groove", as you say.
Vinyl: No pony says that anymore-
Octavia: *stifled sob*
Vinyl: -except some of the greatest musicians I know! Ha ha! Ha... I can still salvage this, right?
Octavia: Just shut up and sit there, please. I'll be a moment.
Vinyl: *nods*
Octavia: *has a shoulder to cry on*

BAH!! You're such a great artist, I can't draw anything satirical or comedic from a piece that you've done a wonderful job making empathetic!!!
And somehow I'm complaining about that!!!
What I'm trying to say is, this piece really did strike a chord with me. I usually find a way to draw inspiration out of people's work to write funny little skits, but not this time. You've managed to convey the feeling of the moment in time between these two, and rather than find humour in it, I think it instead conveys a very human moment that is both relatable and touching. I've been Octavia in this situation, crying over a personal injustice that stabbed at my heart. I've been Vinyl in this situation, holding a friend who couldn't keep the tears back another second. With only a few lines, a small swatch of colour and some precise expression, you've managed to reflect an experience anyone can have, and everyone respectfully goes quiet over; from time to time, we all need a shoulder to cry on. It's a private moment, meant only for those closest to one's heart.
... sorry if this seems a bit overt on my part.
