I had expected that all the "equals" would share there special talent among each other.
so if there is 1 who is good at... making cider.
and that pony became a part of the "equals" then every other "equals" would either:
1: Also be that good at that special talent.
or
2: would have that talent spread out among them, making everyone just a little bit better at that special talent.
I suspect that the show went for door number 2.
But I am not 100% sure

It would've been MORE beneficial if their talents spread out amongst all of them, but alas, was not to be. That would've made them MORE equal than Starlight Glimmer, the character in-charge.
