Some ships I don't understand (Big Mac X Fluttershy/Discord X Celestia/Spike X Sweetie Belle) The characters have had little to no interaction with each other, yet are still shipped. I support Sparity and Fluttercord.

Wow, I though the same thing. I though it was because I didnt know much of MLP but yeah, they're not even friends. I guess it was because Spike is still too young for Rarity, maybe, not sure

Well Spike and Sweetie Belle are roughly the same age (Most likely Spike being older than her) so I can understand the shipping from age point of view. However, I think that if Spike and Rarity do end up together eventually, it will do both their character developments a world of good (Spike: because the writers often seem to ignore his development, and mainly use him for 'non-Pinkie' comic relief][And Rarity: because she is looking for the most popular, handsome guy she can find, and also to raise her fan reputation.)
If they end up together, the lesson could teach young girls that going for a partner just because of popularity or good looks isn't the path to choose, but to seek personality as a priority. Spike himself could end up having more self confidence, and I'm sure there would be a lot more to reel off.

I'm what some might call a brony and I never confused them with anime, or shipped any of the characters. Still watching through the 4th season though, so who knows. Though as a fan I would like to say that I think Rarity would have said "to have a friend like you" rather than "I", sounds more like her this way. Also Applejack would've ended her sentence with a name of some sort for Rarity, if not just Rarity. Doesn't seem like AJ to not do that. Ofc I don't mean the whole Raity-chan thing XP Anyway, keep up the pony work!
