Let's be honest: it can be really tricky bringing humor to a tough situation like this. It was a massive deal to the brony fandom, but we do understand that there are complex factors which must be taken into account when it comes to running a business as large as Hasbro. To be honest, it was the nicest and most apologetic cease and desist letter I've read (and I've read a particularly harsh one from a gaming company to a brony). We don't like it, but they let jananimations keep the bronies documentary song and Don't Mine at Night, so that's a start. Anyways, enjoy the comic! ~Boardgamebrony

If you really wanna know, IIRC it was because the CMC were prominently featured in his animation studio logo, and "Button Mash" wasn't an OC he created himself, but was a one-shot official background character he was treating as his personal OC.

It's actually funny how it wasn't Hasbro themselves that did it, but the lawfirm they hired to handle these. It kinda made sense: The style it was made was too good and too popular to be ignored by them. But it sounds like they'll come to an agreement which is most excellent!

Just wait till Ponyville live uploaded the videos of the Q&A of JAN animations during Galacon 2014. There is a possibillity we can see more episodes, if they come to a agreement with Hasbro. If things go suprime for JAN animations, they will have a limited, but official licence for Buttons adventures. But that's not settled yet.
