Let's be honest: it can be really tricky bringing humor to a tough situation like this. It was a massive deal to the brony fandom, but we do understand that there are complex factors which must be taken into account when it comes to running a business as large as Hasbro. To be honest, it was the nicest and most apologetic cease and desist letter I've read (and I've read a particularly harsh one from a gaming company to a brony). We don't like it, but they let jananimations keep the bronies documentary song and Don't Mine at Night, so that's a start. Anyways, enjoy the comic! ~Boardgamebrony

I don't really understand why some fan projects are okay and some aren't. People put so much effort into animations or games just to be shot down. Why can't Hasbro just mandate a disclaimer saying that the content creator is in no way affiliated with MLP and leave it at that?

Better yet, why not just hire those fans or offer them different types of jobs/training depending on what they're good at? I get that the economy is still suck right now, but even an internship offers a lot of experience for a budding artist/animator/writer/etc.

Someone needs to remind Hasbro that Button Mash is not only good-advertising for MLP, but was also done for FREE. Unless Jan made money doing the project, their legal team doesn't have a reason to post a cease and desist.
