Well, that's a cake.
(If you don't get the reference then I probably sound like an idiot.)

"Maybe for you, Newsworthy, but I just can't see you do it so neatly and detailed when you're using hooves."

I'm curious...what kind of paper are you using for these pencil sketches, and what settings are you using to scan them with? The paper always takes on a unique texture and the tonal value of your graphite is always reproduced very well!

Currently I use heavy cardstock and a simple portable scanner on default settings. Β The scanner is a necessity with my grueling con schedule XD
I take each sketch into Photoshop and play around with the values until I like what I see. Β I prefer to push the values until there's a slight grey tone to the background, because I think it gives the pieces extra flavor, rather than just a plain white background.
By the way, love your work I had no idea that you followed me, I'm honored XD Β How long have you been following my work?

Thanks for the info, dude! Been doing nothing but sketches recently and I wanna accentuate the pencils instead of mask it so this is helpful ^_^
I just found you on dA recently, but I've known of your work for a long time now! I bought some prints from you on Sunday at Bronycon, dunno if you recognized me but I had my Tudor cap on, got the print of the biker Scootaloo and Trixie with the wheel cutie mark ^_^
