I saw a comic a while back that had this awesome theory that Vinyl is octavia and vice versa.
Basically, she is unicorn who hides her horn when octavia. Meanwhile, she also has highlights which are removed via water. Her skin color is also changeable. Then she uses contacts to hide her eyes.
Imo, that is my headcanon. An yea nowacking as the voice as well.

Nowacking is my personal head-canon for the official English voice of Vinyl, so it's always in her voice. ^_^
As for Hasbro calling her DJ-Pon3, from what I guess that's a shout-out to the early days of the fandom when that's all we knew her as, since that's the name we picked for her and her official name hadn't been published yet. Also, whenever we hear her name it's outside an actual episode and in commercials, where she's acting as her DJ persona, so I suppose it makes sense.

Why does Hasbro keep calling her DJ Pon3? Well, because that's her official name. Vinyl Scratch is just a fan name, it's never been official. But then, DJ Pon3 started as a fan name too, so why the hell do people keep complaining about it?

Well the DJPON3 Enterplay promo did say her real name was Vinyl Scratch, but her stage name was DJPON3. So both work, DJPON3 just sounds better on Merch. Guess, and really it's probably easier to copyright.
