well if you blew up Megaton you could have had a suite in Tenpenny Tower. i prefer to disarm it though so i can continue to do the wasteland survival guide quest

Eventually I ratted out the guy that makes the offer (I forget his name) to the sheriff, and I killed the guy I ratted out after I watched him kill the sheriff.

Yeah I've restarted Fallout 3 for my 15th time. Β I've mad just about every choice possible just to see the outcomes. personlay i prefer to disarm the bomb since i don't get bad karma and can get Fawes at the end since he is a huge help when you're heading back to project purity. Β however if you're going to try to get the bad karma Achievements/Trophies then blowing up Megaton is a good way to fast track to those

Isn't there a way to go all the way through the destroy Megaton side quest except for not actually pushing the button at the end so you can kill Tenpenny and Burke, steal the apt key from Burke's inventory and then not blow up Megaton after all while still living in Tenpenny tower?

Yes that is an option. Β However you don't complete the quest because to get to Burke and Tenpenny you have to arm the bomb and head to Tenpenny Tower, where you can kill them and get the key. Β you miss out on xp and a quest completion but it is possible to save Megaton and live in Tenpenny Tower. I've done it and i love to live in a nice place and keep people alive at the same time.
