It's a pretty convenient feature, especially since Christy gets to groom her precious Dartrix to shining perfection immediately after unexpected battles!Ellie's poor Torracat is sick of this sh*t.

That and its type changing ability is referred to as the RKS system. I really wish we'd gotten to learn more about Null's origins ;w;

Well, (spoiler alert for those not wanting Null spoilers) the documents in the Aether Paradise give you some info. There were 3 of them originally, and were designed to fight the "beasts". They were frozen solid (similar to what Lusamine did in her office... That was disturbing). They were made before Lillie and Gladion left, Null being Gladion's Cosmog.

In the postgame Gladion actually gives you one of those nulls, but what happened to the third one isn't really mentioned. Hmm.

I think they might place it with a compatible mate after it evolves, letting the species turn into a part of the pokemon world and let it evolve on it's own (like how Mewtwo was an experiment by humans but now is part of the Pokemon world's nature).

Hold on... What egg group is Type Null in? It says it can't breed, but I'm sure that isn't the total truth. I'm positive later on he will be in the beast egg group, like Eevee.
