I love her whole style and her personality definitely reminds me somewhat of myself, except I'm more shy and don't wear tight clothes. For real though, she's a great character and i can't wait for more of her story to come up. Burning Heart would be a big success worldwide if people would give it more insight, not that people haven't already from what i heard about it being a hit at Comic-Con (or Otakon, I forgot!) I think that you should learn how to animate since you defintiely know your anatomy and Burning Heart would make a good series, though I'm thinkin more of an Adult Swim thing rather than the watered-down, reality-crapped Cartoon Network.

I LUUURRRRVE Pitstop Puddin'! I've said it a few times before about Snapesnogger/OwlGem and I'll say it about you; I love your affinity for drawing dumpy, pear-shaped girls. Pocchari lovers UNITE! (I like her relationship with Bonnie, too...meaty and juicy! LOL )

^__^ Thanks a lot. I'm actually doing a side story about Pitstop Puddin's adventures before college so be on the look out for that too. Glad you enjoy her character and Burning Heart. I never liked the term dumpy for fat girls it always sounds degrading to me I wonder where it comes from. But pear shaped girls are the best to me ^_^ I have to ask, what does Pocchari mean? it sounds like Pooch which sounds like paunch which makes me think of chubby tummies.. but I don't actually know what it means.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ToruKun1 In reply to TheAmericanDream [2009-07-06 02:00:17 +0000 UTC]

Pocchari is a Japanese term for "chubby" (BTW, Debu is a more derogatory term that just means fat). As for the term dumpy...I guess I'm just rather self-deprecating (or self-loathing, LOL), I call myself a fat-fuck, too. *laugh-crying* ;_;

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheAmericanDream In reply to ToruKun1 [2009-07-06 03:07:12 +0000 UTC]

pocchari, i like that one too. ^_^ well long as you aren't too down on yourself, whats in a name I say sometimes. Yea dumpy just sounds lame, like nothing attractive can be "dumpy" but fat girls are hot can be SO attractive and cute, so its not fitting to me, least not for Pitstop Puddin'! Chubb girls are the most wonderful to me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ToruKun1 In reply to TheAmericanDream [2009-07-07 03:18:52 +0000 UTC]

I don't really mind the term "dumpy", I don't think it's that bad, so long as I'M using it in reference to MYSELF...but I'd get insulted if someone called me that (I have a penchant for being self-effacing. A guy at my work says I should stop smashing myself so bad because it's not my fault I'm fat...which is true, I have hypothyroid problems and can't lose weight, and for some reason the doctor won't give me the thyroid pills I need...TMI, though).

BTW, I love your Puddin' avi. And also your sig, the news DOES sound better Auto-tuned (although I didn't really understand the whole angry gorilla thing...is it some sort of in-joke or just random. Is that Sean Hannity guy thought of as an angry gorilla?? O.O)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheAmericanDream In reply to ToruKun1 [2009-07-07 05:19:15 +0000 UTC]

did you see the video auto tune the news? the angry gorilla i think is just RANDOM, but its funny cause the gorilla suit is like falling apart. I think being really fat can suck, but I get tired of everyone being so down about it, I'm overweight and it's never really badly emotionally bothered me, it makes me self conscious but even that I think is kinda silly. Whose right is it for someone to judge your character based on your weight? Within reason I think that's really wrong to do so. A case like yourself is a good example of why you shouldn't. That's one reason people really look down on chubby folk but it really upsets me sometimes, people need more self esteem. But the media doesn't help that at all. I want my art to be a beacon of plus size positivity for as long as I can hold a pencil. Because I like bbw's that much.

Yeah, me bein an overweight guy myself, I understand that while obesity at my age isn't exactly a good thing, that doesn't mean I should be ashamed of myself for being that way. That's like tellin Hulk Hogan that he should be ashamed for bein ripped! But more full-figured women have been slowly coming into the entertainment business. For example, Kelly Price (she lost a lotta weight in 2002 but gained back a good healthy amount, i guess around 2006). Then you got Jill Scott, and she's fine a mutha! Next, you got American Fuerra (from Ugly Betty) and she's cute. We just need more overweight heroes/heroines in our comics and animated series because at least that gives it a more realistic perspective.

TheAmericanDream In reply to DMaxClassof2010 [2009-07-26 08:34:21 +0000 UTC]

yes very true, its realistic, and people should realize some of us do like it, I always hate when overweight characters are either stupid/one dimensional or put down or made to feel bad for them. Like NO one normal or good even likes them very much.

DMaxClassof2010 In reply to TheAmericanDream [2009-07-26 16:10:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, there are plenty of people that like big people, especially in sexual way! As far as how most overweight characters are portrayed in movies and such, I don't mind some friendly joking between them and a friend but there are such things as going too far. Also, if you think about it, there are little-to-none overweight characters in anime unlike the 80s when they had the Super Robot Wars series like Getter Robo.

DMaxClassof2010 In reply to TheAmericanDream [2009-07-26 18:13:35 +0000 UTC]

Musashi is one of my favorite anime characters simply because he's badass and the creator shows Musashi's personality in depth, though the whole running joke of Musashi dying in many later Getter Robo OVAs kinda pisses me off but I won't complain.

"I want my art to be a beacon of plus size positivity for as long as I can hold a pencil. Because I like bbw's that much."

Yes, and I admire you for that! On teh interwebz looking at this stuff, I feel special and like a GAWD (LOL), but in real life I'm a self-conscious shmuck. But honestly, I've actually gotten a lot better about being comfortable in my own skin, and I will never, EVER, EVAR lose weight simply for the sake of conforming to the "media" or "society" or to be vindicated by a man, EUCHH! D:<
I wouldn't mind being a chubby or fat all that much if my head was bigger (). My family is cursed with a lineage of small-headedness and it makes me look like a fucking bowling pin. :S

Yeah, I'm about the same way about my body too. I mean, sure I can lose 50 pounds and then feel better on the outside but that will amount to nothin if I'm not losin weight for the right reasons. Frankly, I don't mind bein fat but I would like to get to 180 though. I'm not ashamed of my body, and you don't have to skinny to be in shape really because there are skinny people that eat even worse than I do and they are in terrible shape. I guess what I'm tryin to sum up is that when you feel good on the inside, that's when you be comfortable on the outside, too. For me, I'll still be the same goofy dude from Georgia, 270 or 170 lbs.

Very nice!!! She's a chubby cutie pie and she looks like she can whoop some ass too! I love her body shape!

Although the character that I'm going to use is more on the muscular side of things, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person that's using a female character with unconventional proportions...skinny w/huge boobs....for the BAN OC Battle.

Best wishes to you and Puddin' and whoopin' some ass in the tournament!

...Please don't tell me part of her name comes from Penelope Pitstop. My little ol heart couldn’t take it if she was a southern belle.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheAmericanDream In reply to skhizein [2009-07-02 16:17:33 +0000 UTC]

Um, it is sort of based off that. A friend helped come up with her biker name. But Patricia Wong is originally from somewhere in the midwest. She doesn't have a southern accent.

I vocalize everything! I was trying to remember myself, and I kinda wrote it in there. You are not intimidating at all. But I do really like southern belles...Burning Heart Comic will eventually have one I am sure.

I think some forms of different dialects are good to have in comics but I won't beat you over the head with nothing.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

skhizein In reply to TheAmericanDream [2009-07-03 03:45:06 +0000 UTC]

When they're spoken sure but this is written dialects. Slang or any kind of emphasis for a word can be confusing if not hard. And then there’s the possible shortening of the word, all the weird little apostrophes and so on a spell checker can throw-up. I'm not going to whine about some thick girl in a frilly dress, though I might wince at the thought of her being in all that constraining clothing, but you better get ready to look up southern drawl and sayings. Because that's what any kind of novelty form of English is going constantly require.

I just hope I can actually read it.
