Spitfire wearing the uniform and equipment, and bearing the banner, of the 22nd Cloudsdale Skyborne 'Wonderbolts', the regiment that would eventually evolve into the Wonderbolts as we know them today.

I imagine the Wonderbolts as not only an aerial stunt team, but also as an active combat unit, of which the stunt fliers are only a small part of. Wonderbolt Academy shows a large number of recruits in training, far too many for just the six-odd strong squad we see performing, unless they have a seriously high drop-out rate. In more turbulant times, they might have been just one elite out of many other pegasus-only units. To reflect on their elite status, I gave them weapons to match; wingblades and hoof-claws, excellent for taking out other airborne foes at close range. They also mark themselves out by wearing sky-blue tabards, and faux-leather armour.

Following up on an earlier piece, with what I hope is a good amount of improvement on my part. Annoyingly, though, I had to fiddle around with the saturation and exposure to get the picture on screen to look like the one on paper again. Oh, scanner, why must you mutilate my work? >.<
