Hello guys and gurls! It's been what... a couple years? Since I did my last CG? Well... long enough -- I can tell you that!This particular CG was started sometime around December. I recall doing it for some far flung forum somewhere out there. I never finished it in time due to my work (I'm a bloody highschool teacher, haha!), but now I have! Well.. at least you can all wonder where I get my models from -- MY MIND YO (tsk, tsk, banish any other thought...)
This was done entirely in Illustrator, except for the sketch art, which was done in Painter IX. Otherwise, the solid lineart, colour, shade, gradients, highlights, text, the friggin tedious goal net... they were all done in Adobe Illustrator.
Well... I'm just glad this is finished. I was meaning to add additional shading and effects in Photoshop, but I'm writing the midterm tests for my students right now and I can't be bothered to. I think this is enough for now.
Hope you all enjoy this... I literally bleed digital ink doing this stuff these days!

She must be very cold. It would've been more interesting if it was a picture of her falling instead though. You know, lots of action and stuff. (clothing being affecting by the wind & stuff would also be a plus

Hmmm... I'll think on that. The original had her sitting in the middle of a large frozen pond after hitting a pole. But then reality kicked in and I thought to myself "what the hell is a pole doing in the middle of a pond???" So I changed it to a skating rink. : P

I'm 26. Just graduated from university 3 years ago.
Teaching in Thailand is alright. It's very laid back actually... which gives me enough time to work on other things... like the stuff I do here, or my book.

Good news, wait... or is it bad news? I can't tell nowadays. I'm 19 years of age, and I like writing as well; sketching stuff really isn't my forte though.

Well the good news is that I can do this all by myself... by profession I'm a designer (not a teacher) and I can do everything from sketches to layout & graphics to pre-presswork.
The bad thing is that I am ONLY one person, and usually these things are worked on by a team of designers, writers and editors. If I had a 4-month holiday though, I'm sure I could finish it then. But alas... I only got my iMac AFTER I started working - -"

Ah, it gets worse. You should see how the US is outsourcing a lot of designwork to Asia for cheap labour... and because of this, designers in Asia are starting to get a low reputation ie: they can't charge as much as their western counterparts.
...and that's why I'm teaching here instead of designing

Yeah. Unbelievable huh? 4 years ago I wouldn't have dreamed of teaching... let alone teaching being at the bottom of my would-be list of jobs, next to burger-flippin' and scrubbing the floors (which, btw, I've never done in my life). Oh well... it's all good. and pays decently in Thailand
