I remember getting KOTOR 2 and played it on my dad's old computer. I couldn't go past the character screen without the game crashing on me. First Childhood Problems.

Yeah, I still have the disc version and had similar problems before. The Steam version now is just loaded with bugs and what not.

The first Kotor is pretty popular, I'd say it's worth your time. However, if you do get a chance to play the second Kotor; I'd highly recommend the Restored Content Patch Mod. It makes the game a lot more interesting than how it originally turned out.
