Yup, I did it. I finally broke down and bought Procreate. It took awhile to find everything and figure out how it works, but I think I really like it so far.

I wasn’t planning on doing a test piece like this, but I was trying out some brushes and I ended up with a really cool squiggle that looked like a nose and beard and, well, here’s where I ended up a few hours later.

This actually went pretty fast and it’s such a fun little guy! I’m not even sure where this came from, it went so easily and is absolutely no-reference which is almost never for me. I was just having fun.

Threw on a little bit of lighting too, just to test Procreate’s effects. I’m pretty happy with how they work, but I’m a little sad it doesn’t have a Glow layer mode…

I’m putting him up as an OTA mostly for the March Madness because there’s no way I’ll finish the dragon I had planned in time…I don’t expect anyone to take him, but there it is.

After this I promise I’ll work on prize art now!!
