If you're at all acquainted with thuribles or their design, there are a few must-haves for the final product: 1.fairly light weight for the bearer, 2.proper ventilation for the coals, 3.heat-resistant material, 4.easily accessible for adding coal or incense to the interior, 5.easily held and maneuvered.

This piece uses a brass 'bowl' mounted inside of the 'box', which is made from cream colored nylon panels, which are also heat resistant and very durable. Each panel was modeled in RHINO, a jewelry CAD program, and then uniformly carved with an automated table bit. Each panel was then hand finished, detailed with brass veneer patterns, and then screwed together. Holes in the panels are layered in copper mesh screen for color and pattern in addition to ventilation.

Wow, certainly learnt a lot there. I wasn't even aware it was actually for carrying coals or incense! Excellent job anyhow, thanks for letting me learn something today!
