Description 1.) "It could work out, " I once thought…

Continuing months after her escape from Sombra and hiding her identity from Equestria, her beautiful foal daughter was born; "Wisteria Eris Panacea". She was a new light in Hope's life. Something to look forward to, something that can change her life for the better, the wonders of parenting. Before Wisteria was born, Hope had happily settled in a secluded cabin in the forest of Galloping Gorge, just southwest of the Frozen North, and just east of Vanhoover. To keep her and her baby fed, she started working as a witch doctor, only using her magic and crystals to heal or soothe the minds and bodies of ponies. She was content and felt safe with her baby daughter, as she was such a calm, quiet and a loving foal. Hope had high hopes for her future, and was blithe that she was able to start over and could finally live a normal life. If she does this just right, Wisteria could go her whole life without knowing her and her mothers dark and grim origins. Only if Hope doesn't stress about "him" too much, nor think of what he has done to her and feel obligated to deeply feel guilty, then she'll be alright…
In the moment, having her little Wisteria in her life was the most favorable thing she could ever ask for (besides her being friends with Sombra). She was a distraction from the disorderly past life she had, yet still a mere reminder of it. Every time she thought of him, she would feel the deepest ache in her heart…"Oh Sombra, I'm sorry you can't experience this moment… If only you weren't so controlled by power, then perhaps you could've seen her…. I wish I was strong enough to blast away that darkness from within you… Then maybe we would've been the happy nuclear family we hoped for… I'm sorry I failed you". Those are the types of inner monologues that overcame her thoughts occasionally. Painful they are; she keeps blaming herself for everything that's happened…But she can't let it control her… like how Sombra once did to her before… as she has Wisteria to consider.

2.) But did it?...

Raising Wisteria was going out swimmingly, up until her teenage years. This was the time when Wisteria was smarter and could evaluate problems with enough thought. Wis was definitely curious since she was guarded from the real world by her mom. Meaning she had a thousand questions to ask her. However, of course, Hope being the protective parent would often give her negative responses like: if Wisteria asked, "What's it like out there?", Hope would reply with "Dangerous". Yeah, Hope became one of those parents who wouldn't give their children not a lick of the truth, because they were scared that they would get hurt.
However, one day, the observative Wisteria noticed that her mother would have gloomy days, and never knew why. If anything, she realized Hope was seemingly unhappy about something everyday, as she would tend to space out and start muttering things under her breath. Over the years, without an outlet or a therapist, Hope's brooding and guilt would overwhelm her consciousness completely, to a point that she would mutter her thoughts at random. It also didn't help the fact that the older Wisteria got, the more secretive and closed in she would have to be. Because when Hope slipped up and said something to Wisteria when she was a foal, nothing mattered. But now, it mattered. Yet… the secret still slipped out.
Wisteria asked Hope what was bothering her. At first, Hope would respond with simple yet understandable excuses, like: "Oh, mommy problems. Nothing to stress about sweetie". However, Wisteria didn't believe it. She knew Hope's stress was stemming from something else, because Wisteria was a good daughter that never caused any sorts of mayhem. The only thing Wis did was being curious. The more Wis would bother her about Hope's gloom, the more Hope would feel inclined to tell… And soon, she did.
Hope told her practically everything, even the gruesome fact that Sombra basically "forced" her to have a foal with her…"I was just so weak at the time that I was too afraid to say no… he tricked me- I said too much"…Hope failed to tell Wisteria the good about her father, like how him and Hope were friends and once lovers, or how he was unfairly treated by society though he was such a kind and gentle stallion. So, everything that Wisteria knew about Sombra was that he was a "monster" that traumatized and hurt his mother and thousands more.
Wisteria would then come to realize that she was a "mistake child'', and perhaps having Hope to raise her is what causes her to constantly reminisce on past traumas, which makes Wisteria feel very remorseful. But even if that was the case, Wisteria knew that Sombra was still at fault for Hope's distress and not her. Wisteria loves her mother to bits, as she's the only pony she knows. Though Hope does give her lies when Wisteria had questions, or never allowed her to see the outside world, those faults never made Wisteria outright hate her mother and became independent or rebellious…Only until Hope told her about Sombra. But her rebellion or independence isn't out of selfishness, it's out of love to fight for her mother and others.

3.) No…yet again, I just ended up making things worse…

Living in isolation with nothing motivating her to do long term other than witch doctoring, Wisteria's need for revenge against Sombra grew stronger the older she got. She hated seeing her mother the way she was daily, and understood that Hope as a restless mother never really had the strength or time to deal with Sombra herself. Thus Wis felt inclined to do it, considering she's built bigger and undoubtedly stronger, with an unexplained powerful magic level compared to her mother. Sure it's a reckless plan, but there is nothing wrong with trying. Perhaps she may be overly confident, but she feels as if this is her destiny. She strives to carry out the task her mom sadly failed to do.
Hope highly disagrees with what Wisteria is trying to do. Sure it's a heroic and very selfless deed, but ultimately still a very sacrificial one. Being the overprotective mother Hope is, she wouldn't allow Wisteria to hurt herself, let alone sacrifice herself in a million years. Also, if Hope lets her go, Wisteria would just be continuing the never-ending cycle of unfair rivalry. Hope knows Wisteria isn't trying to "overthrow" Sombra or "redeem" him like how Hope hoped she or somepony would defeat him. But Hope knows Wisteria is actively trying to end him (kill him ;w; or banish him far, far away for eternity). So if Wisteria magically managed to do that, then the generational warfare would continue, and would never end…and if it did, it would leave off on a terrible note…
Hope would try all she could to convince or discourage Wisteria to not avenge the life of hers and thousands. Hope claims, "it's not your destiny to be had! It's somepony else's"! Then Wisteria would come back with "Well at least I'm trying to do something that you couldn't"! A harsh remark it was, but painfully it's true as Hope admittedly tried all she could to reform him… but failed miserably…then would hide away from her failures and try to ignore them by creating a new life in solitary. The constant begging and restrictions from her mother became aggravating for Wisteria. It had gotten to a point whenever Wis would attempt to leave, the two would start having a shouting fit, until one or the other storms to their room. The sweet little mother daughter relationship that they had was crumbling due to all of this bickering…unfortunately so…

4 .) Alas, I had forsaken them when they needed me the most….woe me…

Eventually, out of stubborn recklessness and frankly getting tired of her mother's lies and overprotection, Wisteria would then leave her. Entering into a new strange world she now saw; how beautiful it was, with all the greenery and nature, yet very odd with a big settlement over yonder, "Vanhoover". Though she couldn't enjoy the aspects of the town just yet, still had to ask the townsfolk where the Crystal Empire was. Though she was bad at small talk and very socially awkward, she managed to gain a map and equipment needed (bought by her monthly allowance) as she was warned of the frigid cold, and proceeded to head north. Wis was surprised at how oblivious the townsfolk were regarding the conflict up north, as if everything was already resolved and Hope and she simply didn't know of it. But no, Sombra was very much present, exclusively ruling the Crystal Empire.
During Wisteria's journey, Hope was left to her senses. All she could think of now is how "presumably" bad of a mother she was and how she failed somepony else dear to her. She wished she could rewind time and make everything better again. The stress of and worry of her daughter being gone on her sickened her greatly. Not only that, but the pain and guilt that came with it. Alas, Hope became hopeless yet again. She grew weary as the days went by, waiting for her daughter to soon come back. But, she never did… or at least she didn't see her face for the last time when Hope finally let go of her long lived miserable life… she was finally free now; may she rest peacefully…
Wisteria arrived and would learn the stupidity of her ways, by heading in with no clear plan or backup. Though she had a tough demeanor and stature, just the sight of the darkened sky made her fearful and reluctant to carry on… and she simply didn't… NOW TIME FOR A RIDICULOUS CURVEBALL- Upon Wisteria striving to return back to the mother she abandoned, out of rushing to get out of there as soon as she could, she took the wrong train, and ended up in the far east (which was Griffinstone). The total opposite of where she was supposed to go. Regardless, Wisteria barely knew how to read a map, let alone what a "north" was. The only way she was able to make it to the Frozen North in the first place was because of the visible tall mountainous region that was a beacon that guided her way. Wisteria's stupid recklessness got her lost for YEARS. And with the times still fairly being centuries away from Twilight's time, transportation and maps were somewhat dogsh!t…. So yeah.

It is sad that Wisteria never got to say goodbye to her mother, or even give an apology. However, Wisteria wouldn't know of her mother's unfortunate passing, only until the end of her journey. But during her excruciatingly long adventure, she would hope everyday that her mother was holding up well, and strived to go back home as soon as possible to see her again. Wisteria took her for granted and wished she never did. Now she sees why Hope always restricted her from the outside world as her mother knew what Wisteria would do…
~~~~
Poor Hope and Wisteria… sorry I did this to them, but Hope was getting too old for hard emotions and situations like "guilt" and "abandonment", and those two things alone broke her little fragile crystal heart. I will continue Wisteria's story in the future or sometime soon… My goodness y'all, I have a lot of HC and Equestrian history to get through before I get back to my next-generation. I just want y'all to understand the backstory of everything before things get TOO out of hand or confusing with my NG.
Again, moving and having to deal with school has been killing my creativity. So if my writing today seemed a bit "bland" or "boring" in this post, that's why TwT…
Anyhow, thank y'all for your time and constant support! I love y'all!! 💖💖 I hope y'all are having a fantastic week! If you have any questions or thoughts let me know anywhere on DA! And as always, GOODBYE FOR NOW!! ÓwÒ
