Description
left me a sparkly comment on my last journal entry, and she asked for a picture of "Time", as ~ThePsychopomp 's Mad Hatter would see it. I was truly stumped for awhile, as Time is only an abstract concept pretty much anywhere except in the Lewis Carroll universe. In Wonderland, Time seems to be a concrete personage, one with enough personality for thet Hatter to piss it off. It went through several incarnations in my head, some of which looked NOTHING like this, but I think I'm happy with the way it turned out.It has no gender and no face, as well an abstract concept should, says me. ~ThePsychopomp was hoping I'd design Time with a mask, but I decided to make it simply faceless instead. (Hope my muse forgives me.) It's black and white because I like black and white, and a lot of other people do, too. The big swirl on top has no purpous, it's just there because it looked cool. The rest was a little more thought out: It has three arms to represent the three hands on a clock (no real fingers), it has the classic Roman numerals as markings positioned around its body, and if you were to see Time spread-eagled from the front view, the numerals would be roughly in the right places to be read clockwise. Time has wings at its heels, because Time is notorious for flying, and it is draped in chains because of its binding nature. It uses these chains to bind the Mad Hatter to the Tea Party, where time is forever frozen and it is always 6 o' clock (tea time).
Thank you for the challenge, ~MelanthaNocturne ! And I hope the rest of you like it! Please full view, and leave pretty comments!
Not sure exactly how long this took. Microns and Prismacolor markers, doctored a bit in Photoshop.
P.S: I HATE drawing chains. I may never draw Time again.

The work on the chains has mightily paid off. Time would look like it was missing something without them. There'd be an emptiness, but you filled it perfectly. And these also happen to be the second-best drawn chains I've ever seen, and I've seen a great deal of chains before. I love everything about the body, from the shape to the markings (genius on the markings, by the by). That curly thing on its head is great, and really adds to the flavor of the piece. Especially the fact that it's Wonderland. I love it. ^_^

Thank you so much! The chains were actually visualized before I figured out the rest of it! And thanks, also, for the compliment on the chains. I feel bad about the coloring job in general. I was so worn out by the drawing and consequent inking job that the Prismacolor marker shading was rather rushed and the chains' shading was REALLY rushed. :sigh: (I never want to see chains again...)

That's fabulous! Very Lewis Carol-y... Yes, I just made that word up. I think that the black and white works well for a color scheme.

Print? I don't even know how all of that works... Never made prints to sell before. You think people would pay for my stuff??
And what would I charge for somehing like this? That's always my biggest problem.

think time would change apearences, It seems to be nonexistent for people at the tea party but for people like the white rabbit it's everything. I like the fact your version looks like it could change, well done.

Yeah... I forgot to mention that Time is also transparent, wraith-like. Not a solid thing. Should have said that...
