Description
CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE ANIMATION IN GLORIOUS 1080pThis is what I envisioned when I thought of My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic and Spazzmatica Polka. Basically, it's one and a half minute of showing off the "walk"-cycles I did of the main cast, which in turn was my way of reverse engineering the animation from the show. Not a whole lot else to tell about this, except that you can watch this in glorious 1080p. That's right, you can watch this at a native resolution higher than that of the show's episodes you can see on YouTube.
Now also available on deviantART.

This will now be my happy place whenever I feel depressed. Or even ignoring a lecture from my parents.

You have a true SWF version of this? We want unlimited resolution. 7680x4320 anyone?

This video was made entirely in Photoshop and After Effects, no SWF file here. However, you can get the 1080p version on YouTube.

Ah. I'm trying to use Shape Layers in After Effects to animate to the same degree... Though I cannot for the life of me figure out Puppet pins, meshes and starch... I just animate the paths.

Honestly, I think you're trying too hard.
If you must know, no puppet tool, shape layers and what have you were used to make this. Just good 'ol standard timeline transformation properties and parent-child links.
Here's a link to a video that shows how I made Pinkie's walk cycle.

For this project, I'm not even character animating. I'm overlaying hooves and faces on top of real footage so the footage is reference for the path animating. I don't really have to deal with joints...

Hmmm, for that, you're probably better off using motion tracking, it's one of the key features in After Effects.

Yup, that's what I'm doing. Motion tracking and then path animating.

Yes. But it should be noted that my software picked up a few lose pixels in the outline effect, which explains the weird bumps.

Can you/are you going to make this with the princesses?
I'd very much like to see them in this style, because I reckon they'd be adorable!
