Description
This is a stop motion animation I made of Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle enjoying a fireworks display.I used construction paper and it came out to be 46 different frames. I made this over 3 days time and had to rush it a bit to make my midnight deadline. There is a little shakiness since I do not have a camera holder which would of held it above my picture but instead improvised with some string.

If there is originally a wider camera view, then each frame can be aligned with the others, cutting away the 'jitter border'.
I didn't do that (would have fixed the downward motion, but too tedious), but used a deshaker on the animation. Maybe that looks a little better:

It was one of the things I had to sacrifice to be able to submit this in time. I really wanted both of them moving their heads as they watched the fireworks but Twilight's mane just kept causing me problems and never wanted to stay put and kept showing gaps. I did not have the time to fight with it. If I had but one more day.

Congratulations on winning the contest! I run my Felt Twilight Sparkle Tumblr (in my signature) and thought I should personally congratulate you (and shamelessly plug you in my journal here and on Tumblr as well).
I do some stop motion too so I know how difficult it can be to get things looking proper. However you've overcome many of those obstacles seemingly with ease. Those fireworks look amazingly well done and great job on the house as well!

I like the shakiness, it adds an extra something to the animation. It reminds me of some of the cartoons they would show on PeeWee's Playhouse.

same...i thought it was on purpose. It makes me think of the sound of the fireworks that its so loud that the place shakes...

Yep I had a lamp nearby that I would turn on when the firework exploded. Then I moved it farther away each frame til the firework died.
