Description
Here's a little concept that's been spinning around in my head for some time now: an epic battle between Edward (Fullmetal Alchemist) and Azula (Avatar, the last Airbender). I figured, since they're both geniuses in their field, very determined and about the same age, they would make one awesome battle.So I ArtRage'd some concept art, then drew them on paper, which failed terribly, and this would be the second try, with some quick coloring for testing sake.
Since this, like the final piece, is done with pencils only, I think I'm going to re-align Azula's right leg to make a more pointy curve forward, that should make her stance look more assertive.
Since it's sitting on my hard disk, there's not really a reason not to share it in my scraps for you to enjoy.

Azula would win if they fought- she's faster and can roast Ed alive while playing hard to get.
Unless she calls him short. Then he wins with ease. XD

that would be the epic battle to end all epic battles! it'd be a really close match, especially since they're both capable of getting really serious and going for the kill. but... I really wouldn't know who to root for D:
I really like the poses, they're dynamic and action...y ( <.< ) the white stripe around Azula is a little distracting, but I know it's a scrap, so whatev

The hardest question you'd face you've already brought up: their most effective attacks couldn't be used because they'd interrupt each other.So effectiveness would take a back seat to efficiency and the one who would slip up would die.
But the funny part is that whoever you want to win will... lol.

The ultimate battle between Bending and Alchemy continues!
Good Vs Evil is also a thing too, because Ed wants to help people with Alchemy while Azula wants to conquer people with Firebending
It'll be a close match, but if Azula calls Ed short then Ed would go beserk, and go for the win.

that would be very interresting to see, my moneys on Azula, because Eddward arm and leg are made of metal, which are conductive materials

That's what I like about [character X] versus [character Y] pieces, speculation about who's gonna win.
Although that is a pretty good argument, I think Edward's alchemy should not be underestimated. It's all a matter of time, can Azula, while running and dodging Ed's attacks, accumulate enough energy and concentration to release a lethal lightning strike?
And the other way around, can Edward use alchemy before Azula attacks and interrupt him?

True, but we have to factor that she still has her fire, but it still would be a very intense fight, I would pay to watch that
