Description
WHOO! Got this done in a day. (First time I went over 100 layers, holy crap. To be precise, 108.)Ix is actually one of my oldest OCs. Last time I drew him was three years ago and his design HASN'T altered at all.
To go with the official Mixeid Lore, I drew Ix (Yes. His name is the Roman Numerals for Nine), the god of Chaos and Dark Aura. Then again, I'll provide some information on his character and personality.
Ix (also referred to as Exarages), is the Shattered Realm's diety of Darkness and Chaos. He was the second youngest of the ten deities, the youngest being his rival and counterpart, X (Cross/Arrow).
Being the representative of darkness and trickery, Ix was wild and uncontrollable. He was incredibly hyper and always came up with 'games', that involved sending people into trances and fooling the latter into getting what he wants. He was rough and would taunt his victims up to the point they would want to fight back.
In later years, Ix went from innocent pranks and jokes into merciless mind games that often resulted in the death of his victims. He had grown bored and took an interest in manipulation, thinking controlling one's mind was simply entertaining. If he wasn't fooling with the mortal's mind, he would offer them a fight, a prize if they won. These little wagers of just fighting until the other surrendered started to bore him after many victories, so he decided to take another step. They would fight until one dies. It started off as 'wrong', but he just brushed the feeling of guilt off.
By the time Ix was matured, he was a ruthless savage, one who pits mortals against each other for his entertainment. He tricked innocents into accomplishing deeds in return for rewards, such as treasures and spoils. He would send illusions and nightmares to random people, driving them to insanity and pain. Eventually, the other deities knew it had gone too far and confronted him in his lair, the Valley of Nocturne.
His powers deprived from dark energies were weak against X's powers (being the god of light), resulting in his loss. Ix was then exiled and banned from any places outside his realm. In anger, he sacrificed a portion of his power to create a driving force (mind trait/aura) known as Dark Aura. It was an influence that poisons those who came in contact with it, taking control of their actions and forcing them to join Ix's side.
The mortals poisoned by the Dark Aura served him as an army, eventually calling themselves the 'Clan of Nocturne'.

That's a lot of backstory.
Anyways, enjoy.

That must've taken really long to make. o.O
Also a 108 layers?! xD Wouldn't that start lagging the program?
Your use of colour is really well done in this image. And most of the shading is really on point, especially on the smaller dragon. (I couldn't figure out who is who with the backstory, but then again I'm quite tired currently.)
The wings of the larger dragon look.. off in their shading. And I suggest removing the highlights on the floor, as it makes the depth of the image look all wonky.
Non the less, this turned out really good. Well done. ^^

Thanks Luna. Just to put it simply, the who are the same person, Ix, just as a representation on what he began to be and what he has become.
108 layers started to slow the program so I compressed some. Just for my advantage.
Thanks for the criticism.

Ahh, I see. I suppose I sort of guessed that, but wasn't sure.
And... Yea I think a 108 layers are just too much to keep track off...
If all those 108 were for the same image, you might want to look into ways of using layers more efficiently.
I myself have projects which have probably over a 108 layers, but there I have folders that each separate different kinds of sketches.
So all those layers are basically drawings standing on their own.

The layers were primarily the different shades of shadows and lighting, which I merged the best I could without screwing the whole thing up.

Ahh.. you use the luminosity layers and such?
I tend to add those at the very last part, or at least try and see if I should add them.
I hardly use them anymore.

I figured out that using 'lighten' and 'darken' were more easy than doing it myself. I'm still figuring out how to use overlay, but in this case, it was just playing with luminosity.
