I've said it before and I'll keep saying it till we get news of the next Ratchet & Clank game, but I think it would be good and AWESOME for the Ratchet & Clank series if multiple dimensional versions of the Lombax race existed.

One of the things that bugs me about Rift Apart is that it sounds like there are only one kind of Lombaxes in the Omniverse while other races have dimensional counterparts like the Kerchu, Goons-4-Less, and Vullards to name a few. Not only does that sound like that kind of thing should be saved for bigger, specific races like the Zoni and Nethers, but it takes away a bit of how the Lombaxes we know are more known for being great builders.

It also kind of makes a mess with how something like that could work, especially since the Lorbs in Rift Apart sound more like they are from a different kind of Lombaxes then the ones we've known since Tools of Destruction, which is fitting as well as this gives Rivet more backstory in a way. I made a literature going over what I mean: Were Lorbs about Ratchet's or Rivet's Lombaxes ?

Having multiple kind of Lombaxes would not only prevent confusion and the need to retcon stuff, but it would give us more unique stories. One idea I've talked about is that the Lombax dimension is THE Lombax Dimension, a utopia where Lombaxes from across the omniverse retreated so they wouldn't get destroyed from certain events. While there, Ratchet could see AU versions of his father and/or Alister Azimuth which could make Ratchet go though a emotional story like one where he gets closure of what happened to Alister Azimuth (which hasn't been touched on since the comics and indirectly a bit of Rift Apart) and maybe one where though its nice meeting a version of Kaden, its not his real father and though wants to hang out with him, doesn't want to replace his father with him.

I also could see Rivet having a story where she has trouble finding her version of the Lombaxes, until finding them near the end of the game and wishes to stay behind to hang out with them more a bit while Ratchet and the others wish to return to there home dimension, saying goodbye which in turn builds up to future Ratchet & Clank AND Rivet & Kit games.

Do you agree with this? What ideas do you have for AU Lombaxes?
