Jason Todd aka the 2nd robin after Dick Grayson became Nightwing took the mantel of the cape crusader's protege after finding him jacking the wheels of the Bat mobile. Batman saw potential in Jason and took him in and raised him. The problem with Jason was the fact that he isn't Dick and was impatient and arrogant which lead to his downfall, because he was captured by the joker and beaten to death with a crow bar. This is vital part of the batman cannon because batman hadn't lost his partner he lost a son (this was way before Damian Wayne) and after that Batman became more of a violent dark vigilante and eventually finds the Joker and sends him back to Arkham. Jason was dead for about 5 years and he was resurrected by a stupid plot device something to do with superman prime I dunno which brought him back to life but was too damage from the injuries before he was almost brain dead. Talia al gaul finds Jason and tries to fix him but fails and see no other choice but to throw him into the Lazarus pit (DC's resurrection plot device)and he regains his memories and former self back but the Lazarus pit effects are that it slowly starts to make you insane. So when he was brought back to life he wanted to kill Batman for not avenging his death and killing the joker. So he comes back as the red hood because the red hood is a symbolic persona that represent batman's two greatest mistakes which has cost countless lives. A reference to the Joker because before Jack Napier was the Joker he was the red hood (different costumes of course). So Red Hood comes back to Gotham after many years of training and start to try and take over the criminal under world of Gotham trying to kill Gotham highest drug lord the Black mask. Because in the Red hood eyes the only way to stop crime is to control it from the inside rather than fighting it like batman has done for so many years. So battles ensue and batman finds out who the red hood is and he is conflicted because dose he stop Jason a monster he created or try to save him from the life he has chose. Hmmmm..I THOUGHT that red hood was joker at one time, but im not that in to dc, i prefer marvel, Batman is about the only dc thing i get into. Thanks for the lesson though! But Deadpool and Dante from Devilmaycry is my freakin dream Combo, they fit.
