The UFO on Goop's head actually controls the alien. The main part of Goop (the green blob) isn't alive, its just controlled by the UFO. Ben's voice comes from the UFO. If the UFO and the blob are seperated, the blob liquifies and cannot do anything. So in reality, the alien is the UFO...go figure.
I'd love to know what Alien X is, and I hope Ben hasn't lost his original aliens. I want to see more of Ghostfreak, Benwolf, Benmummy, Upgrade and Ditto. Besides, Ben only just got Ghostfreak back. If he wasn't going to be able to use him, why re-intergrate him back into the Omnitrix?? Even Ghostfreak's natural form is awesome.

Ghostfreak is one of the best aliens Ben had/has. He is one of my favourites, along with Upgrade, Ditto and Benmummy!!

Actually, the UFO holds Goop's nucleus, protecting it from whatever harm the slime itself would sustain. As long the nucleus is intact, Goop can recover from ever severe looking injuries.
