This is fantastic. The expression is so intense. This would be the perfect mug to have sitting at the front corner of your desk if you're just about to fire someone.
The later addition of the ears is a really funny idea as well.

You must use a lot of pressure to build a nice heavy sketch line. If you are going to use a clear top coat dab it on, do not brush it. You will blur the lines if you brush it.

Have you considered sculpting the features and then sketching over them for sort of a cell-shaded effect? I think that'd look pretty spiffy.
