Hey, I always wanted to become a librarian (but it's unprofitable )
And it's not "filology", but "philology" - my mistake . When you finish studying it, you can become an english teacher or just translator (but I don't want to spent my entire life in school, so I've chosen the second option )

moms studied portuguese, english, french, italian, german and spanish... she can do any of these, but right now she is translating from italian to portuguese...

nah... she's crazy... she only had to learn 3 languages and she'd manage, but she learnt all of these because she wanted to... (italian - she went to italy and asked a friend to teach her; german - she went to live in belgium and had to learn it; spanish - she won a scholarship to salamanca's university, so she had to learn it to go there...)
It was her choice, but you'd do fine only with english...
