Summary:
Wolfsbane encounters Elgos in the stands of the coliseum. While spectating, an argument sparks between them concerning Wolf's eyesight. Eli stands on the fact that there cant be a blind hunter- Wolf vows to prove him wrong. A rivalry is born.

The crowd roared with pleasure as swipes were exchanged below in the sandy ring. Above the heavy hitting 'thumps and angry hisses, Wolfsbane sat. She had found a decent spot to listen to the commotion but her lack of eyesight really put a damper on the experience. she mumbled under her breath with intense irritation. "If only I could see the stupid fight...."
A nearby Voice then chimed in, low but clear. It was Eligos, sitting not even a couple feet from her. His Vacant looking eyes observed her closely. He had seen her before and knew her plans to become a Hunter. "Hm... Have you ever considered a different line of work? How can you be a Hunter if you are blind?" Despite his tone and expression he was genuinely curious, little to wolf's knowledge.

Wolf's head snapped towards him quickly not hesitating to reply. "No! My mothers aN ELITE! I'm going to be a hunter! I can still fight even while blind! I'm the strongest of my siblings!" Wolfsbane said fur bristled and tail lashing.

Eli stifled a flinch as the younger tribune yelled at him. His eyes slowly panning back over to the fight. He was silent for a moment before replying. "My apologies... But... Elite or not, your mother can't give you sight. Even if you made it... it would take many more years than any other tribune... Maybe you would be better at something else?.." He spoke with a slow cautious tone.

Wolfsbane glared sightlessly. He clearly didn't get it "Even if it took way longer my momma says when you work harder then normal the results are better. I don't need sight to capture empire cats. When its dark and their guard is down I can strike them best. Momma said that because of the way they live they get lazy and careless. I'm never going to be careless"

Eli paused, looking away from wolfsbane and back at the battle unfolding below. It was between what looked like a Coliseum fighter and an empire cat. Eli, even with his young mind, could tell the stark difference between the two just by watching them trade blows. The fighter, battle worn, moving carefully and precisely clearly having done this many times before. And then the empire cat... their movements were brash and filled with hatred and resentment... Without looking back at the younger Tribune, Eli spoke again, " Mmm... lazy and careless perhaps...but that doesn't make them any less dangerous..."

He sighed and finally took his eyes away from the battle. "What is truly careless is leading the blind into a battle they can't win. Why would your mother want to risk letting her cub get killed for the sake of capturing such scum?... Maybe I just dont understand." His face twisted in subtle confusion.

“Just because I’m blind doesn’t mean I can’t win. I could win against a empire cat. Though it won’t be anytime soon since I’m not old enough. My moms already started training me so I won’t lose. I know it won’t be easy but I can still win even without sight” she said determined. She could hear the cats fighting below them. She heard one of them was being loud kicking up dust hissing and spitting in rage while the other one didn’t make as much noise the only loud sound from them was when they hit the empire cat.

He blinked at her, studying her for a moment with an almost puzzled look on his face. "When you earn the rank of Bounty Hunter and capture an empire cat, I will believe that there can be such a thing."
The dark male turned back to the match, looking on as the fighter struggled to pin the empire cat with fixed, deadly force. "We'll see if you can prove me wrong."

Wolfsbane looked towards him determined "I'll prove you wrong" She said her tail lashing. She sat back down as the cats below them fought. "... So. Whats going on down there?" She asked pointing her tail down towards the fight.

"The fighter has the upper hand." Eli replied with a flat tone. "He actually knows what he has to do... his opponent, the empire scum, isn't even bothering to think of what they're doing... they're just flailing like helpless prey."
The hybrid tilted his head as his ghosty eyes focused on the empire cat. "They are young by the looks of it... which explains a bit. It still isn't excuse to call that fighting though. I've seen a freshly born calf lash out with better aim than them..." he spat.

Wolfsbane listened to him and chuckled at that comment. "I never knew freshly born calfs had such good aim" She joked. She wished they were closer to the fight then she could tell what was going on better. Though Eligos commentary was quite amusing.

He glanced at her and raised a brow. "they dont... that's the point." Even with a mind as sharp as Eli's he still didn't quite catch the humor in wolfsbane's voice- or humor in general... "This fight won't last much longer, the empire cat is running out of energy, their movement is slowing..."
Eli had just enough time to udder the words before suddenly, with one strong paw the fighter knocked the empire cat flat. They were completely unconscious. "They're down. Its over." He looked on as the crowd roared with excitement and guards from each gate quickly spread across the sandy arena. They separated the two contestants, moving the defeated empire cat and the fighter back to their designated areas.

Wolfsbane twitched her ear at Eligos reply. It seemed he wasn't as gifted in the humor department as he was in his sight. She heard the thump as the fighter knocked the empire cat out. "I don't think that empire cat was very well trained" She said. She heard some of the humans shifting. It seemed it was the last fight of the day.

Eligos let out a deep sigh, staying stationary as he watched the armored humans cart away the downed feline. "You're correct. But with time and the help of the city he will become a good candidate for the Colosseum." The dark hybrids eyes shifted around to the crowd as the bustling began to increase. He would wait a bit longer to head out himself to avoid the hundreds of feet exiting the stands.
"It takes a lot to be in the pit like that especially for such a young cat... and to be put against an experienced fighter like that.. they were testing his metal. That will be you and even myself, soon." He stood and arched his back in a quick stretch before leaping up onto a high step. "It won't always end so peacefully... Are you ready for that?"

Wolfsbane listened as Eilgos spoke. The crowds bustling feet becoming a background noise. She heard the soft sound of Eligos paws landing on something higher up. She listened to his last words her eyes narrowing not in anger but in thought. She remembered curling up to her mother and feeling the spots were fur was missing. She was sure that she'd have scars like that. She was willing to pay that price. "Yes" She said calmly. She knew what she'd have to do and she was ready to do it. Though she knew that time wouldn't come for a while.

"I'll be keeping an eye on your progress.. Let's see if you can really prove me wrong." His short tail curled and flicked as he spotted an opening in the crowd. "I must return home now, my mother is waiting on me... good luck." He leaped up another high step and projected forward into the thinning crowd, quickly disappearing amongst shuffling feet.
'my first true rival... this should be interesting.'

Wolfsbane listened intently to Eligos words and heard him leap away. She stood alone now. She would prove him wrong no matter what. Was this what her mother called a rivalry? She suddenly worried if her mother was waiting on her too. She turned to run towards were her mother was when she ran right into her mothers paw. She fell back on her butt glad Eilgos wasn't there to see that. She should probably stop running in such general directions. "Making friends?" She heard her mother ask. Wolfsbane huffed "No! I'm gonna prove him wrong" She said puffing her chest out.

WOW FINALLY I GOT AN ASSIGNMENT DONE FOR ELIGOS! This is Eli and Wolf's Observation of a coliseum battle!
