Description I did this for a fellow deviant (NO name dropping!) who was mourning a pet dalmatian they lost a while back. Having lost a fellow pet (Casey, my Turtle) myself in recent years, I decided to have them together as spirits.

Since the two of us are close friends, I Like to think our late pets have become friends as well as they watch over us from above.Β  Β

I'm sure Casey and Xena are great Pals up there.

Ditto as well, even if my Dalmatian would most likely try to bat Casey around with her muzzle first, since she was constantly curious and all.

The same thing happened with Casey and the family dog. She would sniff him and in the process nudge him left and right. eventually she backed off and he felt safe enough to come out of his shell.

I only hope he didn`t get too much stressed about it ... and speaking of Xena, I can tell you that from time to time, I actually hear her distinct barking even when everything`s quiet and I`m just resting. It might be classified as "just a hallucination" by my dad, but still, when I hear it, I literally instinctively know it`s her, so yes, I firmly believe that she still visits me even from beyond.
Which might very well still happen with your family dog as well.

Yep. I still hear Pickles barking in dead silence as well. I'm convinced her ghost haunts the house. XP

I`m more convicted she is there because of you and your family ... and just like my dog, yours protects you and your family as well, be it negative energies or darker beings.

But never the good spirits, like my deceased loved ones.

I can only imagine what do our deceased loved ones do in the afterlife, even though I can imagine why we don`t hear them instead of our family pets (even though at times when I`m waking up, I literally hear someone call my name from nothingness, most of the time being an unrecognizable female voice). Because let`s face it, how would you feel if you would hear your deceased loved one speak to you?

Both scared and hopeful at the same time.

Ditto, thus I can understand why they don`t tend to be heard or show up - they don`t wish to scare us by just visiting while in the case of family pets, it`s a totally different story. Funny how human mind works, eh?

TheBlackNova In reply to Dreamer-In-Shadows [2017-08-22 18:57:18 +0000 UTC]

Yep. I hear those voices, too sometimes, but they're usually accompanied by that feeling you get when there are others around-even though nobody else is there. Because of this, I believe the spirits are watching over me in person.

Ditto. Not even gonna speak about my dreams involving them too, even if they`re kind of far in-between.

Yus-yus ... and this is the point where I can tell you that at one point, I had a dream where we buried our family dog in a small patch of grass near the town center and her grave looked kind of like those graves you see in clip art (which would be impossible irl because we actually left her remains to be taken care of by the veterinary personnel, which most likely cremated them) ... only for her to literally dig herself out of her own grave with her paws, renewed and rejuvenated, and then return home, making us all happy (including herself because she just couldn`t get enough of her pats and her tail was wagging wildly).

And then comes the pain of waking up, getting dragged back to reality, kicking and screaming.Β  Β

Guppy (the name of the dog) is still a puppy here, but still, if a puppy can make friends with a turtle, why not adult dogs as well?

Exactly! And there have been other pet bonds, like a Snake and a Hamster, so it's not that farfetched.

Good thing that my buddy-Uruks know how to kill monsters swiftly, thus for them, she brought them some more new broth meat. Even if they already ate some soldier Uruks.

Still wish the Uruks cut off her head and stuck it on a spear like the Rohirrim did to Ugluk.
