mm.. been working on this on and off for the last month or so... centered on one of my favorite bible verses:"If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through."
- 2 Corinthians 4: 3,4
Im not sure if its the concept itself or the wording paul used that intrigues me more... either way, its an amazing description, i had to illustrate it >:3
btw.. the "god of this system of things" in the verse, is refering to Satan.. just so no one gets confused xP

Whoa.... this is one of those verses that I really need to spend some time scrutinizing before I can come to terms with it. Thanks for bringing into view! I'll be praying on this one this Sunday...

This is a quite breath-taking piece. I love the shadows issuing from Satan's wings, and I love how the gleam on the heads of the "unbelievers" just goes back off into infinity like that. Very impressive, even though I know absolutely nothing about the Bible verse you're referring to (or anything to do with the Bible for that matter).
I know there's a reason that he's there, but purely aesthetically, the angel in the upper left-hand corner looks rather out of place.

thanks ^^.. i know the angel looks a little out of place aesthetically.. i was thinking of submitting the full-sized pic of the angel as a separate deviation (i drew the angel and devil seperately).. but he's a vital part of the illustration/message so i kept him there
