Description
This is inspired by the lovely text from Isaiah 11:6-9
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
It's about what the world will look like when Jesus' millennial reign begins; the curse that Adam's sin brought upon the world will end and there will be peace where there was formerly violence and animosity. I look forward to Jesus' return and reign in this world, and the end of evil.

...oh, and what is a "cockatrice"? I've heard of it, but I thought it wasn't a real animal. And I have no idea what it is even supposed to look like. xD

AHA! I very vaguely remembered that it had something to do with a chicken's egg and a basilisk. xD I think I read about it in a book on mythical creatures a loooong time ago.

Thanks ^.^ The world will really be a wonderful place when Jesus begins His millennial reign soon. I don't think the world is a wonderful place today though because it's still under sin, and the curse back from Genesis 3, which is why I really look forward to that glorious future ! It's in that time when there will be REAL peace ^.^

Well despite being an Atheist this is one verse from the Bible that I like, but instead of waiting for someone else to do this, I believe we ourselves should start being peaceful and treat each other as equals right now, and with the rise of artificial meat in the next couple of decades, we might even begin to help animals be peaceful, finally ending the 4 billion year long killing spree that's defined life on Earth for nearly every species until now (or 6000 year long depending on your worldview).

Thanks for your reply ^.^ We should absolutely be respectful to each other and be selfless in regards to others' needs. But I believe mankind will never perfect this on his own, which is why I also believe this state of perfect peace can't exist until Jesus sets up His kingdom on earth.

We can't just sit here and do nothing though. What if Jesus never comes and life is miserable for all eternity? We have to take action into our own hands, I mean if we do act, we either get peace from ourselves or peace from Jesus. If we don't act and just hope, we might never see peace in this universe.
I use the same logic with Quilavas. Sure there could be another universe with Quilavas, but I'm not just going to believe that exists without solid proof and just sit here. I need to work to make Quilavas real, to be absolutely sure, I can't just sit and hope.
From most of the things Jesus said, he actually wanted humanity to take things into our own hands. Sure he could come and save us from everything, but it'd be much more dignified if we did at least some of the work ourselves. The 11th commandment is a prime example of this, Jesus didn't say "wait for me to come and then love one another", he wanted us to start right now. Well right now 2,000 years ago, but that hasn't happened, so now would be as good a time to start as any.

Yes, in the meantime we must still love others and do good for one another when possible, but I know I'm still going to fail a lot and give into my own selfish ambitions from time to time (which is really frustrating!). It's a combination of action, and waiting.

Your reference just totally made my day here. (: It's always been my dream to play with a lion. "Peace in the place of violence and hostility" is the world I want to be worthy to live in. Oh yes, and the expressions and level of happiness in your pictures always inspires me to just keep smiling.

Thank you ^.^ I also find it incredibly comforting that though no one is worthy to attain to this peace, the Lord Jesus blesses those who repent and trust in Him by imputing His righteousness to us. It's certainly much more than I ever deserve ^.^
