This time i used 3 separate layers for masking. The snake, the snakes eye, and the background.

I increased the focus/sharpness of the main subject and then increased the blurriness on the background layer.

From here it was a matter of playing with the colours.

In this case I upped the the saturation and vibrancy to what seemed to be appropriate.

For this one i changed the colouration/hue of the entire image as that seemed to work better than just changing the colour of the snake itself in this instance.
