One of the prominent features of this carnivorous bird is that it can eat on the go. The keepers at the Healesville Sanctuary will display this trait during their daily bird show. The keeper will throw a tasty treat in the air for the Black Kite (as he makes it clear you do not want to know what it is he's throwing) and the bird will snatch the treat mid air and will also eat the treat as it continues to glide through the air.
