Description
Today the Asterix & Obélix comic series turns 60. Even though the comics and films had a certain influence on me when I was young, I don't think I've seriously drawn the main cast before. So here's my tribute to the irreducible Gauls! Find me on Facebook , Tumblr , Twitter and Instagram !

It's a staple of comic books in pretty much all of the French speaking world. Everybody knows about it Québec or France.

Asterix is getting also a new issue pretty soon. I'm a big fan of those comics. They are the Mickey Mouse of Europe.

This goes for pretty much all of the European comics. I think the only European comic characters who are also very popular in America would be the Smurfs.

Between that and Miraculous Ladybug, very rarely does the US take kindly to EU-made cartoons.
I'm still shocked how the Tintin CG movie made it here at all.

Yeah, and that movie flopped. Besides Miraculous Ladybug, there is also Oggy and the Cockroaches which is also successful outside of Europe.
