I don't hate Daisy. but she should not have gotten in. there is nothing in Smash i hate more than clones. Daisy has no fighting potential. that's why i didn't want her in because they would make her a Peach clone. she wasted a character slot! Waluigi should have gotten in, not Daisy. Waluigi actually has fighting potential. there's so much Nintendo could do with him. adding Waluigi would have been the perfect way to represent the Mario spin-offs.
I'm just so mad how they chose a Peach clone over the one character that could represent the Mario spin-offs.

Fighting potential? Really? Waluigi and Daisy have been shown to possess the same basic abilities like punches, kicks, ground pounds for years. Anything Waluigi can do, Daisy can do just as well. Props to Daisy though for showing how strong she is if she's capable of sending Bowser flying with a slap. Not even Mario has shown that kind of brute strength.

Right...anyway, I think we've gone on with this discussion long enough. The point being the point is that Daisy is a playable fighter while Waluigi is an Assist Trophy. Perhaps if the fandom can get through Sakurai enough, he'll switch things up and make Waluigi a DLC character. If not...well there's always Smash 6.

Daisy was created, from the start, as an alternative to Peach, personality-wise; one that's been developed further as time went on.
Waluigi, on the other hand, is just a lanky Wario created JUST to give him a tennis partner.

He has less of his own identity compared to Wario than Daisy does compared to Peach. Also, for the longest time, I was expecting them to do just that. But apparently, they felt she needed more distinction than they could get from just a mere Alt-skin.

*facepalm* You obviously don't know what a clone is. in Smash Bros, a clone is a character with the exact same moves as their original counterpart. for example, Dark Pit is a clone of Pit, that's why nobody likes him. same will apply to Daisy.

Making a character a clone of another automatically proves that said character has no potential or doesn't have enough potential. it shows that Nintendo couldn't think of a moveset for them. so instead of making that character a clone, they need to not include them or if you really must add them, just make them alt skins like they did with Alph. it's that easy.

I find being a clone more of a stepping stone than plain laziness. I mean look at Ganondorf. He started out as a clone of Captain Falcon, but has evolved over the years to become less and less. The same can be applied to Daisy as time goes by. She has potential just like Waluigi (probably more so), but Sakurai just didn't take advantage of that.

Because Sakurai? Honestly, I don't have an answer to that because I don't know what's going through his head. Maybe he didn't have time? Maybe he wanted to expand the "echo character" concept and chose Daisy? Who knows? He's certainly keen on keeping Waluigi an assist trophy for the last three games.
