I'm still more curious what they mean by "Echo Fighters". Do they still have their own slot on the roster?

I think "Echo Fighter" means they are, gameplay-wise, a clone of another. In this case, Daisy's a clone of Peach. And yes,they do indeed have their own slot in the roster.

Despite of being an "Echo" of Peach (for NOT saying she's a clone). I'm glad to see her finally getiing some love, last time of that was in the Remix 10 update of Sper Mario Run (which I really want to play btw).

Also, one of my personal hyped moments was when they showed that Paula and Poo are in Ness’ final smash. Earthbound is my favorite game ever and to see them reference them in was Awesome!

As it was said the direct : "It's not just an homage to Nintendo's history, but for gaming history in general, it's the ULTIMATE crossover".

Also; it seems that this installment of Smash; would be the first of many future games (on the Switch in general) to use the "Unreal" Engine, no wonder why there are some many changes and improvements to an already awesome game.
