Description
After some hours of weird thinking I've decided to prepare my own naming system for elements of Equestrian rolling stock (railway vehicles), for use in my fan fiction sub-universe.
The inspiration for this was a little talk with my brony pal (simultaneosly being also a college pal, politics pal, science pal and railway-hobby pal), in which I showed him my progress in writing of my fan fiction, where I'd named the engine of the Friendship Express “L49-F”. He asked “You've created a marking system for rolling stock in Equestria?” and I nodded before thinking. I hate to lie, so I've decided to create it afterwards.

Construct a whole naming system for rolling stock just for the sake of fanfiction? That sound like something I would do. It's good fun adding to the universe this way!

I'm just trying to expand my fan fiction in the time of final exams and absolute lack of strength for finishing the second chapter of the second part.

I've got a lot of pre-written scenes for the future chapter of a story I haven't even gotten around to converting from a fanfiction version. Y'know, changing character names, the setting, making it all fit with another story that's being converted into an original piece. Also removing myself from shackles of a premade universe and letting ALL of my ideas free as they see fit, old ones finding place where they previously could not, reshaping the base of fanfiction into i swear it's not plagiarism inspired concepts I can call my own.
When I write fanfiction, I undertake a full-force high impact long-term creativity outbreak. And I'm not kidding around, this stuff is gonna take months if not years to finish. All in the name of good fun and passion!

I can appreciate such approach. partly because I can empathize with it - because of not having planned the plot beforehand in 2014, the 1st part got very incoherent and very lacking.
Now, in the second part, I am simultaneously:
- developing existing storylines
- introducing a lot of backstory which will give some depth to the main character
- describing the universe, especially the main character's place of origin
- sorting out some plot holes
- integrating the story with the series timeline
- making the main character less perfect
- trying to understand how the main character should behave in his already 4 year old relationship
- generally imagining his everyday life
If I had planned the first part better, now I could focus on just developing the story. But now I'm having even a retrospective in a retrospective in order to just explain why the main character does something.

All of what you've just said except I always add to the plot. Writing is my passion, I dun need a set deadline. Kept trying to improve my first piece all the time and I'm still doing it now.
My first fanfiction was a mess, 168 pages of cringe and two years of learning how to write. Even when I tried to fix it as time went on, you could tell the difference in my... storytelling, between the first and the last chapter.
Can't say I don't feel nostalgic about it though. The first half is a childlike fantasy: adventurous, action-packed, cringe-packed set-up for the second half (writing skills are notably good), that I seriously enjoy reading. Not to mention the impact it had on me. My God are there songs I've listened to in 2015 that send tears down my cheeks now, they're that nostalgic. Finishing that fanfic felt like an end of a great journey.
All the next ones went like a breeze, taking months instead of years to complete (mind you, not "finish", I never really close the book unless I really run out of ideas. I came back to a three year old short fanfic and changed a single sentence in it this year). At least now I have the entire concept sorted out for each of them. And now, also creative freedom.
Sorry for my rambling about my past. It's pretty cool to see you and I walked similar paths.

I'm just hoping that I'll manage to publish the 2nd chapter of My Little Donkey and the Stork's Nest on this summer holidays. And that I'll have finished the whole part by my bachelor's degree. :I

If it's a passion project without any deadlines and worked on whenever you feel like it, it might as well take years. That's how long my stories take, shortest time being 9 nine months and longest - two years.
But hey, summer holidays are great for writing! I'm sure you'll get the second chapter done in no time and things will just snowball from there.

Yeah, I'll try to write something today. Two of the attendants of the 6th Twilightmeet on last weekend gave me some inspiration and a feeling that this story is really worth continuing.
The sad thing is that I'm doing an internship right now and I have to prepare for two big makeup exams in September, so my free time gets kind of limited, even in summer holidays...

Glad to hear it! Meanwhile I'm in need of someone to read my works, just so I can have an outside view of what I've been up to in the last months. I hope my friends will be up for it.
Actually... I'll read up on Bociani Sen. I remember it being a good read, gonna jump straight to it after writing down this reply.
Makeup exams in September? Dude, must've been a nasty slip up

I'm glad that someone reads it. :v
Yeah, it seems that neither Mathematical Analysis nor Algorithms and Data Structures are my friends. :'D
