Since you're no longer IN the competition, I can comment freely, and I'd like to say that
1. His face in the first panel truly is adorable and makes you wanna hug and squeeze him instantly...
2. The choice of LIGHTING. It adds a surreal, otherworldly quality to this comic. Makes me think of "Jacob's Ladder"...that THIS is the actual dream and is moments from having his family take him into a beautiful white hallway filled with light before it cuts to a shot of his dead body tenderly resting up against a tree, eyes closed and lips slightly parted in a faint smile.
