Who the fudge is the guy that April is hanging with? I dunno what's his name as he's like many many "movie reboots characters which instead of the character from the original comic books and tv show they choose random generated characters that are not related and aren't known what so ever" cliché. Really I don't remember anything memorable from him.... because... he's just there.... or I just annoyed of the Michael Bay style of movie transition that cut any kind of subtlety. I dunno :/

that 'sidekick character' was Vernon Fenwick, who was actually a supporting character from the original Animated series of the 90's
So he wasn't just made up for the movie, but In my opinion was quite unnecessary for the film.

Really now? I didn't even heard of him as he was never been seen again after the end of that show. Grew up in the late 90s though, which is another reason. But even then, his characteristics isn't similar, right? As I done research of his characteristics as arrogant, manipulate and jealous of April was never shown in the movie. Even that they screw up, even though they done it on purpose makes things worst. Oddly enough, he was a waste of space to even been included, even Will Arnett as a well known actor perform .... a bit sucky. Man... sad the movie isn't great either. Michale Bay once again....

I think that because I went into this movie with no expectations that it didn't disappoint me as much as it did other people. I could have done without all of April's heavy breathing, though... or just April in general.

No prob. The fantasy casting/story at the end wrapped it up perfectly.
Also, my theory about why Splinter knew so much: When the turtles meet April, Donnie says they need to get back before Splinter does. My guess is that throughout their time in the sewers, Splinter went about sleuthing and gathering his own info as well as lot of the stuff they had that people wouldn't normally throw down a sewer...

i like that theory, and does make some sense.
If they had hinted that in the film (as they did with most) it would've answered how he knows as much as he knows a lot better, but yeah.

Hopefully in the sequel they'll make it clearer. Maybe, since Splinter was an adult rat when he was injected, that there was a lot more that he learned in the lab but can only remember bits and pieces prior to being injected. Like the mutagen is the only reason why he remembers life in the lab, the fire, and the people so clearly.
I'm also hoping that they bring in Baxter Stockman into the picture in order for Bebop and Rocksteady to play into the picture.
