Full-Colour commission for of her character Abyssi, standing in front of a Tori Gate.I enjoyed colouring this piece up, the backgrounds in particular.

Sort of! They are basically a race that exists in the shadows alongside people. Most of them can be compared to Japanese youkai in that they are neither really good or bad, they are more like a personification of something that was already there (darkness in this case). In fact many are friendly! The one that Chamba drew here is a villain who was used wrongly by human beings and so he detests them. He is old and wily, he was active in Japan's feudal era egging on the different daimyo to fight one another. Eventually he is defeated, but it's only temporary and he wakes up in the modern day.

This is a seriously cool image. I love the faded touch on the shrine arch. Really gives it a feel of depth and distance.
Your color work is subtle, but strong in it's impact. I love the touch of the strong light hitting the back of the body. Makes it look very dynamic.
His left hand looks a bit awkward, but it's an awkward pose. The curl on the tail is rather cool. It looks very organic.
