its just if he swallowerd something, wouldnt a bulge travel down his neck?

Yeah, I understand what you're saying, but the only way I can get a bulge that travels down the throat would be to increase and decrease the X and Y scale of each throat joint in a carefully timed sequence. Not only would this take a fair amount of time, but the end result would likely look blocky and unnatural. I'll try doing the throat bulge this way and upload a small animation, though.
