Description

I created a separate island where the Gems are all radioactive. I figured this is the quickest way to share all of them that are still "alive". The island itself is radioactive, creating each Gem as such unfortunately, making them all varying levels of toxic to their organic surroundings (which only occurs in the northern part of the island due to more extreme weather (winds) where it's protected by large mountains). They are also occasionally attacked by Lunarians, which are referred to as "Sky Guardians" by the Gems. They were lead by a similar figure head to Sensei in canon, who is referred to as "Mother". Unfortunately one day she fell asleep and never woke up again, leaving the Gems to their own devices and need to find answers. Because they don't suffer as many attacks (due to the radiation being a hazard), these Gems are capable of focusing on advancing. They are more advanced in science and tech than canon.

Curite (5): Was around when Mother was still awake and is the self proclaimed leader of the Gems since Mother hasn't woken up. They're more of a boss though, dictating what others should be doing and organizing things. They're very uptight about things and get on others' cases if things aren't done diligently or if (certain) Gems are goofing off.

Ekanite (4.5): The second youngest Gem. They're known to suck up to the more leader-like Gems on the island, while tattling on others. They enjoy attention but have a knack of getting into trouble. They're a quick learner, at first this was thought to be a bonus but turns out they're a menace. Gotten into a bit of a rivalry with Vicanite.

Vicanite (6): Currently the youngest. Curite is trying to find a job for them but they don't want to work and prefer the easy life while also causing trouble. They suck up to Curite but have a bit more of a mouth compared to Ekanite.

Astrocyanite (2.5): The weakest Gem currently on the island. They're soft in nature and with speaking, and usually have a dazed expression. They are incredibly smart though and have focused their attention on astronomy and meteorology (mainly the former). They, along with Pitchblende, developed several tools including a telescope like device. Needs to be escorted if going off residence due to their low hardness and weak physical nature.

Green Diamond (10): The strongest Gem to have existed on the island. Yes, this has gotten to their head and their ego is probably larger than the island. They believe they're invincible and often display this with their recklessness. Blue Topaz is the only one generally to tell them off. Somehow Green losing their former partner (Monazite) didn't set them straight.

Pitchblende (6): The smartest Gem currently on the island. They hold multiple jobs but their main interest is archeology and unlocking the mysteries of the past of the organic beings that lived before them. They develop tools and weapons on the side when needed, or if they have the random thought burst into their mind. They're scatterbrained and love talking. One of their more eccentric behaviours is decorating their hair with gem "extensions" (pieces made from underdeveloped Gems that never came to "life" generally) as they believe their hair is dull and grey. Their former partner was Thorianite, who was abducted.

Chernobylite (7.5): Second oldest Gem. However, they're incredibly unstable physically. Even Mother isn't sure when they were born as they were discovered in an underground cavity. However, Mother couldn't even get within eyesight of them as Chernobylite radiates the most radiation and heat of all Gems and was an unstable amalgam upon discovery. They eventually cooled down but the centuries of isolation lead to them having a difficult time with socializing. If they become too stressed or overwork themselves, they begin to have a "meltdown" and if worsened, begin to spew out a lava like substance that can even damage the other Gems.

Verrite (4): Head of the recovery unit (a doctor), Verrite is incredibly anxious about others shattering and getting abducted. This often leads them to overdo things and wrap other Gems up in bandages to "hold them together". They were the first Gem "born" after Mother didn't wake up.

Trinitite (5.5): The eldest. Unfortunately this doesn't lead to them being able to tell others what it was like in the past, as their memory has worsened over the years. It's thought that this is caused by the dirt impurities in their body. Apparently they used to be more active and chipper, but for a while they've seemed depressed and absentminded. They care most about nature however, as they've seen the effects of radiation on organic life.

Ianthinite (3): The most forgotten of the Gems. They're incredibly shy and anxious (mainly due to their low hardness). They're an archiver, and keep watch over the storage of items found by others (mainly Pitchblende). Their friends are mainly cockroaches. They were once locked in the storage underground for three weeks until someone realized they were missing.

Cygnusite (6.5): Someone switched their reactions so that they overreact to minor things and underreact for major things. But even then it's a mystery if they'll react as expected. No one's quite sure what they're thinking. Their job is assigned as patrol and they don't seem to mind it but

Blue Topaz (8): Often seen as serious, this is only because they're compared to Green Diamond as they're the second strongest. They need to keep a levelhead to make sure Green doesn't do something stupid and let their ego get out of control. They used to have long hair but thanks to Green, it's now short.
