Description Hmm... Well, I started this picture back like right after "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2" came out, and I finished drawing Snape around that time.... but I didn't start the background for a while because I wasn't sure what to do exactly... I mean obviously since this is based off the scene where he dies the background shouldn't be that hard, but the thing was I wasn't sure if I wanted to base the background off of where he died in the book, or where he died in the movie. I later decided that I would do the scene from the movie because a lot of people had drawn Snape's death in the shrieking shack, and because I wanted to draw the lake and all that stuff. Hehe...

His right arm seems to be at an awkward angle, is that done on purpose given that it's a dying scene?

Well kind of... I mean that was the idea, but I was also having trouble with that arm

Lol! I know how you feel, I wanted to yell, "Nooo!!!!" when he died, but I held it back... And I agree, Alan Rickman was the perfect fit for Severus Snape!

yw! he really did the character well. the death scene and the memories were my favorite scenes! he did them so well and when he is interogating the students about hp, he was in perfect character!! the movie made me hate dumbledore tho... he was quite the user. am i the only 1 who thinks that?

Lol! Well I do like Dumbledore as a character, but I do see what you mean by Dumbledore being a user and all.

yea. he is a good character and a good user. he knew exactly what he was doing. it did ruin a lot of people's lives in the process, even tho it was for the 'greater good'. and really. he could have just TOLD harry what the plan was but nooooo. just HAD to be the cryptic santa claus....

Lol! Yeah, Dumbledore... he just had to make everything so confusing for Harry, and make everyone think Snape is bad! *Tisk tisk*

You're welcome.

Snap really made that movie for me. I just adore him.

Oh I know what you mean! That is why I was kind of disappointed in movies 5-7, because they cut out a lot of Snape's scenes... I mean the newest one could have had more, but I am happy with the amount of Snape that they had in there!

I know.. D:

And it always really irks me to watch those movies sometimes because they always make Snape out like he's evil, when he's really the exact opposite. I mean.. I know it's not revealed til the last book, but it's pretty painful to watch. xD

I was too. I'm kind of glad they left out some of the more painful aspects of is and Lily's relationship too.

Oh that always bugged me too, especially before all the movies were out and I would talk to people that have never read the books, they would always say how they didn't like Snape because he was always mean to Harry, or because he hated James. I didn't say much because I didn't want to ruin the end for them, but I was like, "Well, he had a reason to dislike James, the movies just don't really tell you why".

But for me even before all the books were out I had a feeling Snape's character would be pretty important in the end. It made me happy to see that I was right about Snape!

Ya...I mean I wanted to see the whole relationship between Snape and Lily on screen... but at the same time it was probably better that they left some of the parts out.

Yeah, same here! Now, I've only read a couple of the books myself. The thicker they got, the more intimidated I became. I'll probably go ahead and read the rest now. XD
But still, I made sure to keep up to date with the story and I knew about Snape's past, so that really annoyed me too. And for the record, I actually hate James myself.

And same with me, I somehow had this feeling all along that he was actually a really good person. I'm so glad I was right.

Yeah. At least they had some of it. Enough for you to at least grasp that he loved her.

Yeah, before I ever read the books I always looked things up on line so that I had a good idea of what the movies were leaving out, but then I just couldn't take it anymore and I had to read them. So if you get a chance, you should really read them. For me personally, the closer I got to the end of the books the longer I wished that they were... but thats just me!

Yes, at least they left that much in the movie. Which is good enough for me

PainterlyMarks In reply to TheCoffeeFairyChan [2011-10-23 00:04:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I'm sure I'd probably get through them like nothing. I've just gotta borrow them from someone. xD

Yeah, I would have been really mad if they left that out.. I was waiting for that the entire time I was watching the movie.

Well if you ever needed I know where you could download the books. I mean, yes I own all the books, but I like having them in digital form as well, so that if I forgot my book at home I can always read it on my phone or something.
