This is a documenting of my personal headcanon behind Dr W D Gaster. It is best to think of it more as a theory, but in the first person view of the genius Gaster himself.
This covers the events leading up to just before the infamous experiment, and this headcanon is the same that will be applied to the "Nobody Came" genocide comic. (So, spoilers ahead.)

CRIMINY FLIPPING CHRISTMAS THIS IS ACTUALLY PRETTY DARN GOOD!!! You made the journal look exactly like Gaster's might have, you used perfect scientific theories, your writing was outstandingly legible, the art included was fantastic, the wingdings were spot on, you knew exactly where to use those wingdings to hide all the secret stuff, and the cover art is just 10 out of 10 byotiful. However, I do have some theories on what he might've looked like before his accident, such as no lines on his face, no wonky eye, his power eye (or whatever you call it) is purple, and he didn't have holes in his hands. Also, he wore the gray sweater at home but otherwise wore a lab coat. That's about it!

Cheers. Somewhat obsolete after MatPat's Gaster theory though.Β

Β  Β Yeah, I sometimes wonder if Matpat's actually seen this (unlikely) and if so what his thoughts would be.

Wait, how was he able to contact human scientists?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheComicGuys In reply to whitebearboy [2016-12-29 05:24:08 +0000 UTC]

Well, they do have phones in the underground. It wouldn't be too hard for Gaster to find the contact number for NASA.

Got it. Where did you get the idea that he was so amoral in his research? It was Alphys who made the Amalgamates, and that was an accident that she felt horrible about.

TheComicGuys In reply to whitebearboy [2016-12-29 12:26:04 +0000 UTC]

I believe Alphys found his initial notes regarding DT (before Gaster's accident with it) and not knowing the effect, since Gaster was so rushed in fast forwarding his black hole experiment once he was infected with DT and she wouldn't have met him in that form, in all timelines following the one swallowed by the black hole, she would have known the healing effects it had on those who possess a human soul. From there she would have tried to replicate a vessel with the same structural integrity as a human soul, such as the vessels Gaster used to store the DT, but small enough to fit comfortably inside the body of a monster. Alphys' intentions with the DT were purely to further the development of medical treatment in the underground. So that's how Alphys ended up accidentally creating the amalgamates, and as for Flowey, he is the flower injected with watered-down DT that Gaster assumed "dissintegrated". After the accident with the amalgamates, Alphys had the same idea of experimenting on flowers with DT before she tried to help anyone using it again. Flowey, being the bored sociopath he became without having a soul, managed to convince Alphys that he was a product of HER experiment, not Gaster's.

Got it. So the story wasn't implying that the lab assistants became the Amalgamates then? Also, why do you assume Gaster was so amoral?

TheComicGuys In reply to whitebearboy [2016-12-30 00:05:18 +0000 UTC]

The assistants became the grey Followers of Gaster. His amorality is simply my interpretation (in my mind, he plays a part in the Genocide Route, though what part that is will have to be revealed in my Nobody Came genocide comic which is to be told from the perspectives of all characters rather than just Frisk's.)

This is amazing. Not only did you add a beautiful cover and special effects, but you must have spent weeks on this, choosing the correct wording and creating so many journal entries. Honestly, this should be on the Guinness world records book! All I have to say is... amazing. Pure awesomeness.

Thanks! I had to self-teach a bit about quantum physics and get confirmation from someone I know who works in the field to get it as accurate as I could.Β

All I can think about right now is how badly I want a pet Gaster Blaster now. How badass would it be to play fetch with a giant laser shooting skull? Really badass, that's how.

Until it chases a mouse through your house, that is. That thing is bigger than Gaster himself, and he's pretty tall.Β  Β

TheComicGuys In reply to 0ZYMANDlAS [2016-10-08 01:14:14 +0000 UTC]

I have heard many people say this; the one I am basing this on is Hawking. I have spoken to some quantum physicists whom I know on the question of the validity of this theory, and they have proclaimed it to be entirely feasible. Even if it is not entirely accurate, being a world of fiction in which magic and other such things exist, observations undertaken by the parties involved (Gaster, his assistants, Asgore, etc), would be different to those undertaken by our own human race. Gaster says several times how he does not trust the research of almost any human scientists. Also, it is worth noting that theories regarding the fourth dimension are just that: theories. There is no real way of knowing whether or not they are correct until solid proof of said correctness, or incorrectness, is provided.
